"We recently stayed at May Cottage and it was just what we needed. The cottage is lovely and much bigger than we anticipated, especially the bedrooms - they’re a really big! Kitchen has everything you need and even though we had taken hand wash and washing up liquid etc, it was all provided. Even dishwasher tablets! The views from the garden are exceptional and it was very quiet. We loved sitting watching the families of swallows flying in and out of their nests and listening their babies...

"Such a beautiful place to stay, will absolutely come again. Very quiet, peaceful, lovely views. Plan ahead transportation - there is a cash only pre-book taxi company (£15 per ride or so) or drive in rental car. Great nearby restaurants I town. Quiet during the off season."

"It was difficult to find the first time. Probably more my GPS fault than anything. Once arrived, I had to walk around the area to find my lodgings. GPS said "you have arrived" well, that wasn't good enough. I walked around till I found it. I slept in the twin bunk room. The bottom bunk bed was very uncomfortable. Mom slept in the queen bed and said it was very comfortable. Bring your own toiletries as they are sparsly provided. The shower floor has no slippage protection. I did mention this to...

"Nice cottage in a quiet neighborhood a short drive from Edinburgh. The cottage is next to the owner’s house. There were two deliveries that came to ours instead of the main house and some workers at the main house. Because the bedroom looks out onto the driveway and main house it was not as secluded as I thought. But it was mostly quiet and there is a small private garden in the back. There was easy access to Rosslyn Chapel and other hikes and a nearby pub. We enjoyed our stay."

"We stayed for 2 nights and loved it. The location was great as we could walk everywhere and Margaret was so easy the communicate with. The lodge was spotless and the kitchen was well equipped. We would definitely stay again."

"We live in Edinburgh but had to book somewhere to stay while we were having work done at our house and Sycamore Cottage was perfect for four of us. The bedrooms are really spacious and the kitchen is really well equipped which isn’t always the case in self catering accommodation. We didn’t think we’d need to use the log burner but a typical Scottish spring meant we used it a few nights and there was plenty of logs left for it. Easy to drive into Edinburgh or can get the train from Gorebridge....

"Stayed here over Christmas whilst visiting family in Dunbar. The apartment was lovely and had everything we needed for our short stay. Great view over the harbour and beyond, from a lovely sunset one day to stormy waves crashing on the beach the next day. Really responsive communication from the hosts."

"We had such a lovely time in a beautiful house. Set in a castle’s grounds you couldn’t ask for a better place to stay. The proximity to Edinburgh allowed us to explore the city and come back and relax. The host was very helpful and we had such a lovely time! Thank you!"

"Can not rate this place high enough. We stayed in the cottage and it was Immaculate, staff were so friendly and accommodating! Nothing too much trouble. Breakfast was superb as was the dinner - quick service. I can not fault this place and I am sure to be returning !!! "

Boa localização e quarto com tamanho razoável
"O hotel está muito bem localizado, próximo do centro da cidade e com um ponto de ônibus bem perto com várias linhas disponíveis. Infelizmente no período de nossa hospedagem, o estabelecimento estava em obras, e não permitia o estacionamento de nenhum carro (o espaço, de qualquer modo, é bem reduzido). Um aviso na janela informava para utilizar o estacionamento de uma escola que fica do lado oposto da avenida. Mas o atendimento foi bom, e o quarto tem tamanho razoável e o chuveiro bom, apesar de ter móveis bem antigos e desgastados."
