Perhaps what we are searching for is a quiet getaway, a place to relax, somewhere that will put our minds at ease. Maybe we're searching for a new adventure, a place to canoe and hike, or the perfect fishing spot. Sometimes we go on vacation in search of healing, a place where we can rest and replenish our vitality. Vacation isn't always about where we go, it is also about who we are with and the memories we make. Often, we go on vacation in search of a way to bring us closer to the people we care about, a place we'll never forget.
Onida, a Native American name meaning "the one searched for," celebrates the significance of vacations. Onida is a cozy waterfront retreat in the mountains of Southwest Virginia. With the serene beauty of the landscape and the inviting ambiance of an indoor fireplace, Onida is a perfect getaway for those searching for rest and relaxation.

A perfect weekend...
This cabin is wonderful. It is right on the river and is quaint, cozy, and lovely. The hummingbirds on the backporch were an extra treat. Great place, fantastic weekend. We will be back!

Hope you can shower in 6 mins and brought an air mattress
Yup, that's right, shower is only hot for 6 mins. No time for ladies to wash your hair and forget shaving!! I washed my hair in the kitchen sink once the water heated up again. The mattresses at motel 6 are more comfortable than the $100 mattress in this cabin. Wifi didn't work. We own a cleaning business and need to stay in touch, which is part of the reason we picked this cabin - because it offered wifi. Signal strength was strong, but failure to connect. Reached out to NRR, who just responded with the wifi password (we got that buddy, thanks!) Feel like they didn't want to deal with fixing the connection issue. We will not be staying at this cabin again. Pro's - cabin was very clean. Cleaning crew did a great job. Pet friendly. Lots of activities nearby. Easy access to put a kayak in the river. Nice porch overlooking the river.

Perfect !!
Location , view, river, clean, and we loved the cabin !! We stayed 3nights and had stick fires and grilled .. we surely enjoyed and we hated to leave the calm and peaceful vacation .

New River getaway
We really enjoyed this cabin which is cuter than it looks online. Literally right on the river. Great covered porch including the grill, which kept a rainy day from feeling like a washout. Very well-equipped. In a group of other similar cabins that are spaced far enough apart to still feel private. Very relaxed and comfortable.

quiet, semi-private (some cabins close by yet everyone stays to themselves yet are friendly) literally a ball throw away to the water. Bring everything you need as not many convivences close by- yet that was exactly what we were looking for

Wonderfully Peaceful!
Onida was the perfect river side cabin for us to relax and unwind. The property was clean and included everything we needed during our stay. We enjoyed fishing during the day and campfires at night. Definitely recommend to those wanting to unplug and just be at peace.

Wonderful view of river. Property was clean and bed comfortable. porch was comfortable with that fantastic view. A large person might have trouble in the bathroom...very small. It does have a tub with shower, very small vanity and very little room where toilet is. We would stay here again.
