We all have our own unique oasis; that place where we seek refuge and find relief from the day's troubles. Our own personal oasis adds beauty to our lives and provides a place of peace.

Throughout history, legends have described an oasis as being a welcome sight to weary travelers, a lush sanctuary that provided rest on a long journey or a place to be replenished to begin a new journey. The essential characteristic of an oasis is water, and what better place for a modern day oasis than here on the New River.

In nature, an oasis is a place that nurtures life; it's where things grow. Just as a natural oasis provides fertile ground and nourishing water to plants, our own personal oasis nourishes our beings so that we may grow and feel replenished.

Midnight Oasis does just that, it is a place of quiet serenity inviting us to escape for a few days and be revitalized by the river, the woods and the simple things like an evening campfire or a morning walk by the water.

Convenient and Peaceful
We wanted to visit Bristol for our anniversary this year but stay somewhere different. Luckily I stumbled upon New River Retreat and this little cabin. It was convenient to the interstates yet so secluded and quiet! We enjoyed steaks from Hilly Haven and even watched a Bald Eagle soar over the river! It was a wonderful escape from the hustle and bustle of life.

It was a perfect birthday getaway
Location, cabin, and hospitality was perfect. Only minus is the bedroom fan was a bit wobbly. It made a clicking sound. And for a pet friendly cabin, the idea that pets are not allowed to sit on anything is not fun. At least a) provide a designated pet blanket or cover the sofa with some sort of pet protection fabric. Other than that, probably one of the best birthday present ever.

Relaxing weekend
We had a very relaxing weekend at this sweet cabin by the river. The porch was perfect for winding down after a long day. The house was clean and well stocked, we especially enjoyed the welcome gift of cider and snacks.

Wonderful little cabin on the river. Was great to hear very few sounds other than nature. Clean and cozy living space with lots of amenities. Will be back in the summer to enjoy the outdoors more. Was a perfect spot to retreat for a couple of days and get away from daily stress.

Morning Oasis Cabin
Where should I begin…the place is absolutely gorgeous. The cabin itself was very clean. We had an issue with the toilet but Debbie the caretaker of the cabin came out and fixed it for us. We sat out on the porch nearly every morning/day to just take in the scenery and weather. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect for Labor Day weekend. The campground in the other field was packed with campers but amazingly so quiet. I do have to give a shot out to River Junction Campground, very nice people and we rented a kayak trip for the day and then we also went tubing on two different days. The River is a lot fun with some small rapids enough to get you wet a little bit. Expect about a 3 hr kayak trip if the water level is relatively low and a 4-5 hr tubing trip.. Please support River Junction Campground. We went to the Hillsville flea market which was really cool and almost overwhelming how big it was. Overall it was one of our favorite spots so far looking forward to checking out more cabins through New River Retreat. We will definitely be back here!

Wanted to be close to the new River trail. Was about 15 minutes to allisonia. That was fine. There’s no WiFi here. That’s the only drawback.

Quite cabin with plenty of wildlife to watch
Very nice and clean property that is well furnished. There is another cabin right next door that is probably owned by the same person. Out in the country with a canoe and tube rental company very close by.

The cabin was immaculate and was well stocked with everything anyone would need. The location was perfect. The views of the mountains and river were breathtaking. Easy access to the river. Our overall experience was perfect and we will definitely be returning in the future.

Lovely!
Our family of 4 (plus 2 fur babies) had an excellent stay! We had one housekeeping issue, but called the property owner and they were very apologetic and offered to come right away. We didn't feel the need for them to come as we were checking out the next day, but they were professional and courteous. The cabin was beautiful and included everything we needed. The porch was our favorite part - especially watching the deer and fireflies at night. One note is that the river access is not quite what we expected. It's rather mucky and not a clean entry point for kiddos who wanted to go swimming. But we managed to figure things out. Overall, this was exactly what we were hoping for - a relaxing, comfortable "staycation" for our family. Thank you!

Honeymoon trip
We wanted to go somewhere different on our honeymoon. This cabin was perfect, clean, and in a great location. The new river that was in front of the cabin brought plenty of wildlife from deer to geese. I can’t wait to go back.

We really enjoyed our stay in Midnight Oasis cabin. Loved the serenity, privacy, and freedom it afforded us. Loved our walks down to the river and snapping a few photos to print and frame. Debbie did a phenomenal job of preparing the cabin for us. Everything was extra clean and ready for our week. Lots of memories and I would love to stay here again.
