"Beautiful thatched cottage, large enough to accommodate 4 generations over the Christmas period. Great communication with the property manager, always very responsive and willing to call round and answer any questions. Easy access to the hot tub was especially appreciated. Location of the property is excellent to access activities without a long drive. We stayed 11 days and didn't run out of things to do and places to visit. "We had a lovely stay at Kim’s place. It was very clean and comfortable, including very comfy bed. Kim was always quick to respond / communicate and very friendly. Nice location on edge of new forest and next to Blashford Lakes where you can see all sorts of birds. We really enjoyed! "

"This was our second Christmas spent at Andy’s cottage. Perfect size for the three of us. Kitchen has all of the essentials and is a lovely size looking out over the garden and fields. Shitterton is a lovely quiet hamlet with lovely period, thatched cottages.Most of our time was spent in the cosy, spacious living room with a fire roaring away. Lovely place and Andy is a great host and responds promptly to any questions."

HOWEVER I am deeply annoyed with VRBO after showing hot tub pictures on the listing for the lodge i was booking I naturally presumed it had one there and as it was not cheap we thought we would treat ourselves to a weekend away. "The property is updated and clean. It's close to shopping and eateries. The only negative comment I have is that their website needs to update how to enter the apartment. Instead of stating to enter code and push door, tell patrons to enter door and turn knob while the button on the knob is still green. It was, honestly, a bit confusing. Other than that, everything was excellent!"

"Really lovely property warm cosy and comfortable. Beds very good quality. Plenty of secure parking, lovely garden. We would highly recommend. Ideally need a car to visit local areas but only short journeys. Would have liked a local pub for evening out or a meal unfortunately the closest was about 1 mile but it’s closed down, this issue didn’t matter as we had a fabulous time and saw friends that we haven’t seen since before COVID so it was very special. Thanks to Becky for the easy communication...

"Set in isolated rural village with lovely views and walks. Our vist was marred by horrendous wet weather,but we made the best of it. Mark and Madeline were lovely people who made us welcome and dealt with any issues and gave advice about the area."

A real find in the Wiltshire countryside

"We really liked this hotel a lot. We arrived late on Friday, after picking up my wife from the airport, but the reception staff were ready and waiting and when we decided to go to the bar for a nightcap, the bar staff were friendly and not rushed at all, even with only hand an hour till closing. The room was spacious and comfy, with a great bathroom, nice toiletries, effective air con, and nice complimentary tea, coffee, water and biscuits, etc. Breakfast was great, really well organised, and the distance to the city centre is easily manageable on foot. We made use of the free shuttle into the city in the evening, as it was raining and, again, the staff were super helpful. Ample parking, a fair few electric charge points for EVs and a great location for the road out to stonehenge, too. "
