"Cute, renovated hotel in the heart of downtown. Fireplace in lobby was great on a cold night. Staff was friendly and room was comfortable. Bathroom was updated but it took a long time to get less than hot water in the shower. Biggest issue was lack of sound proofing. The room doors open right into the hall (no hall/bathroom buffer like newer hotels) and you can hear every conversation outside your room. We could also hear the alarm of the person across the hall going off for over an hour. ...

"Beautiful mountain setting, horse pasture out front. Friendly, helpful staff. Had to figure out why wi-fy wasn't working. Had to bring our own Keurig. Couldn't get to streaming tv. Tiny kitchen, few dishes."

"We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It was very clean and quiet. It was the perfect place to “chill out”. We even had special visitors. Deer, wild turkeys, a kitty cat, and some beautiful birds. Spruce Pine is only about 15 minutes away. There is a Walmart, and several restaurants located there. Also, the restaurants at Little Switzerland are less than 10 minutes away. The food at the Chalet was excellent. The only suggestion I would make is that the owners invest in new...

"We arrived in a very windy winter storm, the host called on our way to make sure we were aware of when the road would no longer be salted/city maintained. We made it in fine. The cabin was very quaint and quite cozy. The WiFi was down due to the storm but that just made it all the better as we were looking for a getaway from it all. We saw 5 deer in the pasture in front of cabin. The hot tub was excellent. Ample space heaters to supplement the split unit. Everything we needed to prepare...

"We had a really lovely time hiking in the area and then coming back to the cabin to relax. Sitting in the hot tub surrounded by flowers, hummingbirds, and butterflies. It was a great getaway."

"Very clean, comfortable bed. Only complaint is portable air conditioning units. They are big and loud. They do the job but we turned the one in the bedroom off at night so we could sleep."

"Only 2 bedrooms with doors that close. Not enough bathrooms for 8 people."

"We loved this cabin! After a long day of volunteering with hurricane clean-up, it was nice to stay in a safe, quaint, and beautiful cabin. The driveway into the property was the only reason I did not give the "area around the property" 5 stars. However, I suspect the recent flooding is what made the driveway so bumpy. Overall, it was terrific, though! Ed was a great host!"
