"My wife and I chose Doc’s Lakeside Cabin for a weekend away. We arrived at the Cabin during heavy snowfall, and found the property owners quick to plough, salt and maintain the property so that we could come and go freely. The place far exceeded expectations, and is a truly beautiful, serene and tranquil place that is perfect for relaxation. It was so pretty with all of the snow, and made for perfect hot tub weather. The surrounding area has everything needed for a perfect adult getaway, with...

"This is an older home (1920’s?) with so much charm. It’s exceptionally well cared for - the floors are clean and in excellent condition, the walls are clean, paint job is beautiful, etc. The air is clean (no smell of mold) bathroom fans work, etc! In short, one of the best maintained rentals we’ve stayed in. The beds are comfy. Oh - and the landscaping is also beautiful! It is winter - would love to see the gardens in the spring. "Twin Maples was the perfect getaway for our family. The kitchen was spacious and well-equipped. Our family enjoyed the pool table and lovely patio. Our hosts were very responsive and we enjoyed our stay!"

"The location worked great for us. The Loft was comfortable and clean. Steve was quick to respond to our questions. Perfect place to stay for our weekend getaway! "

"My husband and I came down to visit for his birthday. Steve was very accommodating and whatever question we had it was answered right away. We had a lovely time! The only thing we werent aware of was that the cabin is in a little neighborhood with 2 other cabins that back to the same common space, but was very quiet. It was well stocked and the hot tub was an awesome touch! Anything you could want they had. Being able to bring out dogs was a a plus! We hope to be back!!"

"We spent a weekend just relaxing in the cabin. It is beautiful and clean. We loved that there was not a lot of cluttery decorations. The setup was great, the kitchen had all the things we needed for a weekend away. We spent a lot of time in the hot tub and by the fire place. We would like to come back when the weather is more advantageous for hiking. We saw several deer behind the cabin. My only complaint was that the sheets were rough and the pillows were not great. We would definitely return!"

We have been to the trail many times during peak season, but decided we wanted to do something a little more lowkey and bring our dog. We spent quite a bit of time in the house, reading, watching TV cooking, and all of the amenities that we needed were there. Communication with the property owner, Steve, was also very easy and he was very responsive.Would recommend this cozy home! "

"Amazing property that we simply didn't stay long enough to enjoy in its completeness. Billiards and Putt-Putt on entry, so attractive that we started playing before we even unpacked! I'm very artsy interior, and lots of room and outdoor fire pit, multiple decks, and an in-ground pool. The home is even on the grounds, an event venue. Probably a wonderful combination for them! Would enjoy returning, but for a longer stay will you could enjoy all with the property had to offer! Highly recommend it"

"This was a virtual retreat for me. I stayed 4 nights very comfortably in a location that worked well for getting around Cape Girardeau. The neighbors were very considerate of my quiet time! The bed was very comfortable, and the space was inviting."
