"The was a very comfortable and cozy hotel. I had a great time here. I found it impeccably clean, and the cleaning staff was very friendly and helpful. It's walking distance from the downtown shopping area, but still pretty quiet. There is a lovely lounge and bar area that is very comfortable and welcoming. The shower worked very well too. I would love to stay here again!"

"Pros: Friendly staff. Fantastic English breakfast. Great location, walking distance from the ferry terminal and all stores near the Stronmess waterfront. "1 The Noust is a perfect haven for a quiet retreat and to explore mainland Orkney. The cottage is extremely well equipped, especially the kitchen. The storage heaters made the cottage just comfortable, without being 'too hot.' There are some lovely walks around the village and a local shop for any groceries required. The host provides excellent communication regarding booking, key access, the cottage itself and answered any queries within mins. For us, this cottage was a special find and we hope...

"We were met on the ferry by chance by the lady that owned the house that we were staying in, she led us directly to the property and showed us round the house. The house was exactly as described, clean, tidy and very well equipped. The lady's husband worked on the ferry and on one occasion he phoned his wife and asked her to make sure we were going to arrive on time. The whole experience was perfect."
