"This was a lovely place to stay near Volcano, HI. Great location near the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and the town of Volcano which had some good restaurants. It was clean and was stocked with everything we needed for the time we were there."

"Beautiful view from our yurt, but it was not clear in the listing that the yurt had no running water or bathroom IN the yurt. We had a separate private bathroom a short distance from the yurt with 2 toilets, one being an incinerator type (A little complicated, but doable), a shower, and a sink. All dishes had to be taken from the yurt to the bathroom sink to wash them. There was bottled water in the yurt for drinking. Good refrigerator. The yurt is about 10 minutes up the hill from the main...

"Chose this house because of location. Our first time on the big island so wanted to visit both Hilo and Kona side. Location allowed for good options each day as it was less than 2 hours from Hilo, and only an hour away from Hilo . House is great and host is super responsive. You can tell how much this house is cared for. The home is somehow cozy and spacious at the same time. Very charming decor and has a ton of stuff for family nights. Our family has 2 adult children, one teenager, and two 12...

"Quiet neighborhood with a rainforest like atmosphere. Covered outside area to sit and enjoy coffee in the morning and libations in the evening after a grand hike around the rim. The beds were soft. The gas fireplace was awesome on a rainy evening after dinner. This place was perfect for our stay and we would love to stay here again given the opportunity. "

"We have rented properties around the world and this is a new favorite. It’s out of town, but not so far that you can’t easily get to local attractions. Very clean well appointed kitchen and home. The private beach area and pool were fantastic. Very responsive hosts and we highly recommend this home. "

"Kind of out of the way but was very quiet "

"House was in excellent repair. Everthing was clean and working properly. Host communication was quick and welcoming. Thanks for letting us use your home, we had a great visit!"

"First, this property is cool if you know what you are getting into. This is way off the off the grid living. You are staying on a lava field in a shipping container. That is the cool part. It is remote, and just wow for sunset and sunrise. The host, Ron, was nice and communicated well. The location on VRBO makes it appear on Chain of Craters road just near the famed sea arch in Volcanoes National park - a big reason we picked it. However just a bit east of there the road has been closed...

"We have rented Simmy's house next door (vrbo 49376) several times but this was the first time we stayed in this house. We rented both houses as we had a family gathering of 6 adults and 5 kids this trip and it made a great family compound for our group. The lanai is very large and it's where our family of 11 spent a great deal of time. The location of the property is a big plus as you can walk to Kahaluu Beach or Magic Sands (we drove to Magic Sands as we had so much gear!). It's also a short...
