"Loved the room and the view, staff were really friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. One issue was that there was a wine stain on the carpet beside the bed, I reported it to the cleaning staff as I didn’t want them thinking it was our fault. They cleaned the room each day but did nothing about the stain on the carpet. The other issue was the water pressure, there was a lovely big bath but it took an age to fill up"

"This is a well run, comfortable hotel in a lovely position by the harbour. Unfortunately we had a disappointing experience lunching in their Water's Edge restaurant, my guests had the chicken main course, which they described as over cooked and dry. I had the fillet steak with bearnaise sauce, the steak was so small and there was no bearnaise, as can be seen in the photograph. I don't know what the problem is in the kitchen, but we had to wait 40 minutes on Saturday breakfast for the Greenbank...

"This is a wonderful hotel. Spacious, comfortable and quiet rooms. And excellent restaurant with views over Torbay. The bar has an outside patio that also offers stunning views. The pool is great with steam room, jacuzzi and saunas. There is a secluded pebble beach next to the hotel that's very pleasant. Our only issue is that the car park is too small and the spaces are also too thin for modern cars. A very minor issue though."

"The Pines Hotel is in a great location with amazing sea views. It has a staff that at all times in every area we used gave fantastic service. The quality of the food served at Breakfast and in the Pines Restaurant in the evening, was of a very high standard. Our room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. We had a wonderful sea view picture window. The only little niggles for us was the self service coffee at breakfast which could be improved by having a machine that served coffee by the mug....
