"Extremely nice facility! Plenty of room for a large group. Well stocked with all the supplies needed. It was very icy weather when we arrived in January ( of course - it's Colorado), therefore being located at a high altitude we had a little trouble getting up the road leading to the cabin. But the neighbors were excellent to help us. Really good neighborhood, very friendly and willing to help us in any way. Neighbors even loaned us snow sleighs to use. "We stayed at the Rustic Rook due to the proximity to Great Sand Dunes NP. It was extremely quiet, as it was during the week just after labor day -- only one other tent was occupied, which made it relaxing but also a little scary! We stopped in Alamosa for some easy dinner options, but the other couple staying at the time took advantage of the resorts option to have dinner items to grill. It was VERY windy and it rained off an on but the tents stayed dry inside and warm with the wood-burning...

"Great view of the San Luis Valley and San Juan Mountains. The main view from the dining room is spectacular! We played games at the table and would stop to discuss the view and watch the sunset. Very inspiring and created a peaceful fun vibe while we played games. Very private and peaceful location. Walkable neighborhood with great views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. "The price is very reasonable for a location that can fit up to 8 people. The geodome is very special, although it is cold in Dec. The two-floor house itself is great. Especially there are big windows and a deck on the second floor, which is great for people to enjoy their coffee and watch the beautiful sunset and mountains. The property itself is very clean. Supplies are all there. It is also convenient for us to drive just less than 15 min to reach a grocery store to purchase food and snacks....

"This was a beautiful property-- well-appointed and comfortable. We came for the solitude. A lot we could have done but we dod a lot of walking, reading, talking and game playing ad well as visits with nearby family. The fantastic Sangre de Christo mountains are stunning at all hours of the day or night. Amazing stars, snow and wildlife -- deer and elk. The cabin kept us cozy even as temperatures were at ir below freezing for days. Thank you for a great stsy."

"Just loved the stay here. Almost don’t want to say to much because I would like to be able to always schedule here again. The place is beautifully appointed and run by Lavonne and she is awesome. Everything was top notch for a cabin in the woods. We got 3-4 feet of snow while I was there and Lavonne took great care of everything. "
