"Very difficult to get to - hour and a half of bumpy roads to Carate, then a 3.5k hike. The logistics were not well communicated, but worked out fine. Hot (mid-April visit). The grounds are pretty special with spider monkeys frolicking in the trees right above the tents and ocean waves supplying 24-7 white noise. The guided hike into the National Park was underwhelming - the wildlife was superb, but you only skirt the periphery of the park and don't get to really explore the old growth. "

"O quarto é bom, os colchões são bons, é simples mas com bom custo benefício. Tem ar condicionado que é fundamental na região. A praia tem areia preta e na maré baixa boa para banho, na alta fica um pouco mais agitado. O banheiro é grande e tem água quente. A piscina é excelente. Answering the phone when you have guest traveling from out of country, and to a very remote location is standard basic custom service. "The view from absolutely everywhere is stunning. We had the chance to see a plethora of birds and monkeys from our little pool in our balcony. The drive there is a little challenging but the location makes it all worth it. Taking a shower indoor/outdoor is one of a lifetime experience. "

"Playa Cativo Lodge is a wonderful place and the accommodations, food and staff were absolutely perfect. It was nice to be so close to the gulf which was calm, warm, sandy and perfect for swimming. My only complaint was that the entire front area of the lodge has been landscaped with grass and ornamental plants, many of which are not native. Because of this large open area few birds or animals come near the lodge. Bird watching was disappointing compared to lodges that have left the rainforest...

"La tenda è piuttosto piccola, ma pulita e con zanzariera. Non ha luce né prese elettriche e, in generale, è tutto molto buio, anche lungo i sentieri. La doccia è privata (acqua a temperatura ambiente, non ghiacciata), ma non i WC. Nell'area comune all'ingresso è disponibile il wifi, ma non nel ristorante.
