Crescent Head is renowned for its Point Break which brought masses of people here in the 60's, 70's and 80's and has since been dedicated a National Surfing Reserve back in May 2008. The right hand Point Break is one of the longest and most classic Point Breaks in Australia, if not the World and has been a breeding ground for grommets ever since.
The Marine and local habitats, enjoyed by all those who visit, include the rock pools of the shore, which are tiny microcosms teaming with Starfish, Sea Urchins, Sea Snails, Crustaceans and tiny colourful fish.
The sea is abundant with Blackfish, Bream, and Drummer feeding off the Black Boulder. Pelagic species including Taylor, Mackerel, and Salmon move through the waters with Jewfish and Snapper all year round. For those who have boats, will find scattered reef from here to Point Plomer with Plomer Bay producing quality snapper.
Surfers are often joined on the waves by Dolphins and Crescent Head is visited by migrating Whales as they cruise North and South. Stingrays are often seen basking on the sand and Loggerhead Turtles are a special treat when surfing the point. The sky and surrounds are home to the Osprey, Brahminy Kites and Seagulls. Pelicans also visit the creek dwellers and Fisherman.
Please note: Crescent Head Real Estate does not provide linen at any of its properties, but linen hire can be arranged for a small fee.
