"I can’t think of a better place from which to explore the Cairngorms. This property, including our little cottage, is an historical gem. You will have to manage a few tiny comfort issues like no shower, the cushions on the living room furniture were worn to the point you are sitting in the frame, there were spiders (harmless) everywhere. The washing machine is in another community building, the queen bed is actually two twins pushed together so it was too short for my husband. But even with...

"Stayed in this cabin to attend the Highland Games in Braemar. Great cabin. Clean and comfortable. Easy check in and owners/managers were very quick to respond if any queries. Hot tub was great and would be even better in winter. Only suggestion would be some hooks on the back of the bedroom and bathroom doors for hanging towels etc. Definitely recommend. "

"What a beautifully unique place to stay! We were in the Gamekeeper's bothy and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was clean and spacious and the wood stove kept us plenty warm! We never saw any red squirrels but I did see a beautiful jay that was so different from the blue jays we have in the US. I would stay here again in a minute!"

"Wonderful cottage in a great location with which to explore the Cairngorms. The cottage itself was clean, bright, easy to find, and had everything you could need. Check in was easy and the owners were very helpful and communicative. Most everything you could need is in Ballater, a couple of miles away, including a grocery, petrol station, health center, and a number of restaurants and pubs. "The property was clean and comfortable with all the facilities expected. The garden was spectacular with red squirrels, rabbits and plenty of wildlife. The collection of books and artworks in the house was much appreciated. This is not a property if for those wanting flashy or ultra modern but it is a fabulous place to stay to enjoy the Cairngorms."

"This property was exactly as expected and really good value. The location is lovely and really convenient for hiking, mountain biking and all the area has to offer. Ballater is very close (less than 10 min cycle). Interior is exactly as in the photos. Plenty of space for boots, coats etc. Comfortable beds with lovely linen. "
