A few moments into the beautiful countryside of Northumberland lies West Moneylaws, where you’ll find ’The Hemmel’ and its smaller sister property, ’The Granary’.
The Hemmel is a semi-detached two-bedroom cottage, finished to high standards with the comfort and enjoyable experience of the guest at the forefront of the owner’s mind. When you’re finished taking in all the exposed stone and gorgeous woodwork within the property then take a walk around the grounds and say hi to the owner’s pet alpacas, and pet sheep including our favourite ‘Nigel’.
The Hemmel is the ideal property for either a couple who appreciate some space and luxury, friends taking a celebration break together or a small family of four (not including a baby or toddler as a travel cot can be provided). The two 3ft zip and link single beds in the second room can be fitted together to make a super kingsize bed. Those lucky enough to take advantage of the main room will appreciate the contemporary four-poster bed and enjoy the larger size en-suite which was designed to larger than average. The open-plan living space is just fabulous and has so much light from the skylight windows and large patio doors which lead to the enclosed garden. Whether socialising or watching the kids, the open space is a really enjoyable place to be whether you’re having fun or just relaxing with a cuppa.
The extent of activities available nearby range from outdoor pursuits such as fishing in the River Tweed or shooting (subject to permits and seasons) to boat trips from nearby Eyemouth or Berwick. Spend a day at the beach, the huge stretch of blonde sand at Goswick is highly recommended for a quiet walk or a family picnic, although Berwick beach does also have some amenities nearby. Holy Island and Bamburgh are minutes away and Harry Potter fans will have a sense of familiarity when visiting Alnwick and its castle.
Free WiFi
Fishing: Game fishing is available on the nearby river tweed, a fishing license is required.
