NOTE: Through 3/31/25, only the Main House is available, sleeping up to 8 people !! Guest Cottage re-opens for Spring/Summer
This stunning yet creatively inspiring “mini estate” is comprised of TWO BUILDINGS-- 1.) a 3000-square-foot custom home and 2.) a 500-square-foot guest cottage. The property sits directly on lobster boat filled Corea Harbor, across from three working wharves.
MAIN HOUSE- GROUND FLOOR
The kitchen is a chef's dream, featuring a magnificent AGA Range with multiple ovens, griddle, pot spigot, & burners. To the left of the AGA you'll also find a conventional oven and stove. A double sink looks out over the harbor and another large, single sink, out to the backyard. Dual professional pull-out drawer dishwashers abut the double sink. The 2-level island has drawers & doors on 3 sides, and a 2-stool seating area on the fourth. All non-range appliances (toaster, microwave, coffee maker, etc.) can be concealed in cabinets, including the Sub-Zero 642 Refrigerator System.
The sunroom: looks into the beautiful back yard and has another sink, a sitting area, a table, a desk and a large TV.
The dining room and living room overlook the harbor and three working wharves so you can watch boats come and go.
The ground floor also has a library, a butler’s pantry, a laundry room, and a guest bathroom.
Finally, there is a large bedroom suite, which connects to a bathroom with double sinks, a glass shower, and a private toilet and bidet.
MAIN HOUSE- SECOND FLOOR:
The front sitting room gives you an even better view of the harbor. There is a bedroom suite identical to the first-floor suite, and two smaller private bedrooms (one with twin beds, the other has a magnificent corner window view of the harbor) share a bathroom.
Please note: Only the guest cottage has air conditioning. Average high temperatures in July and August are about 73º so, with the breeze off the water, the fans we provide should be sufficient.
GUEST HOUSE:
Walk up the few stairs of the front porch and enter into an open living room and full kitchen. Use the in-wall AC/Heat combo splits to keep the cottage as cool or warm as needed or use the cozy gas space heater stove in the corner to stave off those chilly mornings. Bathroom is off the bedroom, with a walk-in shower. The back of the cottage offers the best view of the osprey nest.
THE GROUNDS:
The patio off the main house sunroom includes a Green Egg grill, and a conventional grill. The backyard has natural granite outcroppings accented by lawns, trees, & flowering beds, with a little bridge leading to a bench. Best of all—it includes a view of a magnificent osprey nest.
THINGS TO DO IN COREA:
Wonderful food, galleries, and sights are short walks away. Reserve tickets for a Corea Lobster Boat tour to Petit Manan Lighthouse and to catch a lobster for dinner. Turn left to go to “Corea Lunch on the Wharf" to eat off -the-boat seafood and other lunch items and browse the gallery there. A short walk further up the road and you’ll find another “kick-ass” gallery called “Chapter Two.” If you turn right, you can wander over the roads to sights of Corea’s spruce-clad islands, and/or you can enjoy the gorgeous vistas of Cranberry Point. Other than the sounds of Lobster boats leaving and coming home, the area is deliciously quiet.
THE ENVIRONS:
The property is also only a few minutes drive to the shops, restaurants, golf, yacht club and artisans in Prospect, Birch, and Winter Harbor. Winter Harbor also has a passenger ferry to and from Bar Harbor; 45 minutes one way.
We are about a ten minute drive to the less-crowded Schoodic Peninsula portion of Acadia National Park-- the only section of Acadia on the mainland. The Schoodic part of Acadia is about 2400 acres and boasts vistas, trails, a picnic area, and a National Park Research Learning Center called the Schoodic Institute. More Info can be found at: https://www.nps.gov/places/schoodic.htm Please Note: Bartlett House is an hour drive from the main part of Acadia National Park on Mount Desert Island
