"This place and the surrounding area are amazing in my opinion. I learned the hard way, but you deff need a car in this area. The towns all around are cute and have a nice old school charm. And Lismore castle and gardens are amazing. Just wish the lord and lady would allow tours of the castle."

"We just enjoyed an incredible stay at Mews #6, while a large group of relatives rented four of the newer lodges on the Castlemartyr property. For ten nights we enjoyed cozy digs while being in very close proximity to the rest of the family. Although in need of a few repairs, the cottage suited us well, providing comfort and charm. "Heureusement que le jardinier était présent au moment de notre arrivée pour trouver la boîte à clés et nous dire que le portail ne fonctionnait pas. Propreté laissant à désirer. Pas de chauffage. Chasse d'eau compliquée. Une seule douche utilisable. Contrairement à ce que laissent espérer les photos, c'est une vieille maison . Par contre, le parc est magnifique."

"I arrived early, standing outside in the rain. Owner was able to let me in early after 45 minutes in the rain. On the 2nd morning after I started my shower the water stopped. I had to dry off and leave without a shower. Also a leak in the ceiling in the kitchen. No reduction in fee offered. Wish I had stayed elsewherey"

"Owner was in contact straight with a very extensive information package running to several pages. He also contacted us by TELEPHONE directly from the USA! The booklet emphasised the wooden floors (several times) as also he did (several times) which was a tad OTT (or maybe just tor us standoffish Brits). "Apartment is spacious, clean & tidy and very well equipped (the towel rads in the bathrooms can be heated even when central heating is off!). There is off road parking and a fantastic view over the bay (subject to Irish weather). 3 pubs within 100m, 2 of which serve food and on the other side of the bay there is a fantastic beach. Roads in and out of the village are good, there is lots to do nearby and Cork is not far away and the Atlantic coast easily accessible beyond that. Only downside is...

"Spent a week in Oct here while some family members attende Ballymaloe cooking school. Great location with excellent water views. Property manger was very quick to answer questions. We did have to extend our stay as there is no check ins on Sunday. That was an unexpected cost. "
