My wife and I stayed at this property for the past week and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The tl’dr version is – WONDERFUL property, clean, great location and we highly recommend. For those who want a more in-depth review:
Location
This property is secluded but not too secluded. It’s located in a small lakeside neighborhood and easy to get to. It’s within 15 minutes of Wal-Mart and 15 minutes from the state marina. There are some nice local restaurants nearby and it’s around an hour or so from Mammoth Cave. There’s parking on-site if you bring a boat.
The Property/Amenities
Amanda has done a wonderful job of making sure the cabin is stocked with most everything you need. There are plenty of towels, dishes, and bed sheets. The cabin also has a washer and dryer so no need to over-pack. The internet was super-fast – no problems with connectivity (although cell service can be hit or miss). It also has a nice hot tub and a perfectly placed firepit. The grill is in super good condition (better than my grill at home!).
The cabin was super clean and, for those of you who might come in the heat of the summer wondering if the AC can keep up, there was no problem. The daily temperature while we where there was 95 – 100 and the cabin stayed comfortable. Upstairs was a little warmer but there is a window AC unit upstairs.
The beds were super comfortable, water was hot and overall, we had no complaints with the amenities.
Boating/Fishing
If you are coming to fish, there is a boat ramp roughly a mile from the cabin where you can also bank fish. In addition to that ramp, the state marina and a local marina are nearby making getting to (and in!) the lake easy.
This is a cabin my wife and I will definitely be staying at again. Amanda is a wonderful, very responsive host and this was a visit we were sad when it was over.
