Our residence is in historic Elizabeth, one of the nicest, most pedestrian-friendly neighborhoods in the city where generations of prominent Charlotteans have made their home. Hawthorne Avenue is the heart of Charlotte’s health care district. Plaza Midwood and Uptown are a short ride away on the streetcar.
Within half mile walking distance from more than 40 locally owned restaurants (Italian, Mexican, Cajun, and Mediterranean). For breakfast, try Central Coffee or Villani’s Bakery. Our favorite full-service spots include Customshop (local cuisine), Cajun Queen (Louisiana soul food) and Intermezzo (Italian).
If you are looking for local gems, check out The People’s Market, Menya Durama (Ramen), Moo & Brew (burgers), and Midwood Smokehouse (BBQ). Have a beer at Legion Brewery, a drink at the infamous Thirsty Beaver (Mick Jagger’s favorite spot), or a cocktail at the Crunkleton. Many of our neighborhood restaurants have patios that welcome dogs.
On the ‘Plaza Piazza’ you will find many locally owned shops including antiques, fine gifts, wines, and bespoke clothing for men and women. Elizabeth is also a neighborhood with a vibrant nightlife. If you’re looking for an exciting place to stay in Charlotte, you’ve come to the right place.
Just down the street is Independence Park, Charlotte’s oldest park. The newly renovated park has miles of wide sidewalks, towering trees, a playground, picnic areas, and garden respites. The parks and open walking spaces make the area perfect for those with a furry friend.
Uptown Charlotte is only one mile away and a short walk or ride to the Carolina Panthers and Charlotte FC Stadium, Hornets/Spectrum Arena, Knights Baseball Stadium, Discovery Place, Convention Center, Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, Mint Museum, Spirit Square, Gantt Center for African American Arts + Culture, Discovery Place Science, and NASCAR Hall of Fame.

Established in 1897, Elizabeth is the second oldest streetcar suburb in Charlotte. Given its close proximity to Upton, Elizabeth became one of the most fashionable residential areas in Charlotte in its early days.
Because much of the neighborhood was developed in the early 20th century, Elizabeth's trees have had time to mature. They now form a canopy over most of Elizabeth's residential streets. In addition, Elizabeth is more pedestrian-friendly than most Charlotte neighborhoods, businesses and residences are in close proximity, and most roads have sidewalks.
One of the many advantages of staying in Elizabeth is its unbeatable location. Situated just minutes away from Uptown Charlotte, you'll have easy access to the city's top attractions, cultural landmarks, and exciting entertainment options.
