This house is perfect for a family or group seeking a fun, culinary and cultural vacation. Popular dining spots in the neighborhood include Xiao Bao Biscuit, Fuel, Porchetta Shop, Southbound, R Kitchen, Chubby Fish and many more! Our guests and neighbors also rave about Welton's Tiny Bakeshop and Kudu Coffee. We recommend going to either for a cup of locally-roasted coffee or their delicious cookies and cakes. The house is only a short walk from the very popular King Street where you will find a multitude of great shops ā€“ including antique shops, book stores and fashion boutiques ā€“ as well as endless buzzing restaurants and bars.

You can walk almost everywhere - but should you want to rest your feet, there are many other options for getting around: Uber, Lyft, Charleston Bike Taxi, Charleston Rickshaw, Green Taxi or Yellow Cab.

Family Vacation

Our vacation was great! We had a perfect location with this home. The home was well stocked with basics but be sure to bring your own bar of soap. The beds are very comfortable in this home so a good night of rest won't be hard. Parking, however, is very tricky. If you have two smaller cars, it won't be an issue. The house gets two spots. The driveway is EXTREMELY narrow. There are two houses side by side and the driveway is in the middle. My husband is 6'4" and his arm span could almost touch both homes. The driveway goes straight back in to 3 parallel parking spots. My son had a Toyota Camry and he was able to maneuver down the drive to a spot. However, we had a minivan as our second vehicle. Just don't even try. There is a parking garage on King Street and we parked there. The property owner graciously gave us parking vouchers which saved us so much extra money. The garage says it's 24/ day but it never stopped at that. Ask for vouchers! Again, minivan, truck or SUV will not fit this driveway!The only negatives are that the home is extremely old. It has been renovated, which adds charm. However, with an old home comes a musty smell that can't be helped. I suggest an extra candle and room sprays to help overcome the odor. Also, during Summer months it can be a little warm even with air conditioning. We brought a box fan with us and the home has box fans in the closets. You will need those to keep cool and keep air circulating.

Charming property with plenty of space and conveniently located. The kitchen is well stocked, the beds extremely comfortable and very nice quality of linens. Communication with the management company was excellent.

Great Place to stay with group!

We had a great time staying at this property. The location is great and itā€™s perfect for a long weekend. My one complaint is that the cleaners were standing on our porch ready to come in and clean a full hour before our departure time at 10am. This made checkout a bit more complicated as they had stuff on the porch very much in the way as 10 of us were trying to pack and ready the apt for check out.

Beautiful House, Great Time!

We had a great time in Charleston! The house was exactly as described, beautiful & very clean. The beds were really comfortable and we loved having coffee in the porch in the mornings. When we first arrived the lock pad on the door was not working. I called the office & they came out to fix it right away. We also needed additional towels then provided (11 women in one house!) and weā€™re given more than enough!My only complaint would be is the bedroom on the first floor needs to be sound proofed somehow. You can hear every person walking by outside & every noise made in the kitchen. Maybe add a white noise maker in the room? Or make sure your heaviest sleeper in that room. Otherwise, all was great!!

Charleston single house

My 5 friends and I stayed at the property for 4 nights. It was a perfect set-up for us. The right amount of beds, although 2 people did have to share the king size bed. It would have been nice if the king was one that could have been split into 2 twins but still worked for us. The location is great and walkable for most people. But if anyone in your group has mobility issues be aware you will need to drive to sites in downtown or use a form of public transportation. The home was clean, comfortable and well equipped. We opted not to cook but it appeared to have the necessary equipment. The beds were very comfortable. The floors do have a bit of slope to them but we felt that only added to the charm. Our group thoroughly enjoyed the stay.

Disappointing

The size of the construction site across from the Vrbo was insanely massive to not have verbally communicated this info is wild. I definitely felt duped and tricked by putting a tiny byline that said there MAY be SOME construction in the neighborhood. Itā€™s a one full block construction site digging through the bedrock starting at 5am. We were the for my mothers EIGHTIETH birthday so it was upsetting.

We really enjoyed our stay here. This house is great for family or a large group of friends. Close to King Street and very walkable. There were separate spaces as well places to gather and super comfy beds!

Great stay!

The house was spotless & comfortable. Iā€™ve visited Charleston many times, but this was my first stay in the Upper King St area. The neighborhood had a cute coffee shop, sandwich and bar that we visited. I highly recommend this property.

Girls Trip

We stayed here for out annual girls trip and it was such a great location. Very easy to walk over to the entertainment on King Street, but also a great location for restaurants and shops in the area right next to the house. The owner did a great job of checking in with is and made the entire check-in process very easy. The house itself had very comfortable beds, a great sitting area on the 2nd floor and upper balcony and fill bathroom on each floor. Just know that the top floor will be a struggle for the taller population with it's steep,slanted ceilings. We kept the 5'4" ladies up there and they didn't have any issues. If you're looking for a fun place to hangout in-between exploring the sights, this is definitely a great spot.

16th Birthday Retreat

I was a little worried after booking this houses. I chose this house for its location, but after I booked the address was not what was showing on the map. The driveway was too small for a Tahoe to fit, that information should be listed on the description. There is public parking across the street, but it is surrounded by a fence so you have to walk around the block to get to it. Even though the house was a little farther from downtown, it is still within walking distance. I would definitely stay here again.

Spacious and comfortable

This rental was a good location - a short walk from a very happening section of King Street - we went to Jeni's ice cream and passed tons of bars that were really hopping. The driveway is very narrow. We had to fold in both mirrors and drive very slowly with one of us carefully guiding the other into the driveway spot with barely an inch clearance on both sides. The layout of the house is a little funky - kitchen and 1 bedroom on ground floor, living room and 1 bedroom on second floor and then 2 more bedrooms in a low ceilinged slanted loft/ attic. The beds were very comfortable as others have stated. Others have also stated it feels like a college housing and I would agree. I also felt there was a funky smell in the house that bugged me but no one else in my group were bothered by it.

Great Location

There were 8 of us that stayed here for a convention. The location was great as well as the cleanliness. We loved to sit on the second floor after out meetings and just chat about things. The balconies were great for morning coffee and listening to the birds. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

We had a wonderful time. We did not rent a car so we had no parking issues. Very comfortable beds. Our only disappointment was no table for us to eat at (although we were out for most meals) It would have been nice to have a table to sit around for coffee or to play games.

Location provided was off by 4 blocks

The house was great, if it was in the location it was advertised. We booked the house for its location and price. The house was supposed to be only 3 blocks from an afterparty for a wedding, but Vrbo either purposefully lied about the location or they posted it as an error. Instead of walking we had to Uber/Lyft to the places we wanted to go. No issues with the home and our stay.

Charming Charleston

The house was perfect for us! Plenty of room to hang and to sleep! Itā€™s nestled in a hot pocket and a coffee shop next door - close to everything! Management was kind & courteous and everything was clean! We will be back! :)
