"This is your basic older hotel. It is undergoing some maintenance to get it back to being a three star hotel. In the meantime, it was exceptionally clean and comfortable. Staff was very friendly. Close to many good restaurants. Priced right. Highly recommend for a budget conscious trip. "

"The 4 rating for "area around the hotel" is b/c the new entrance was ynder construction, otherwise it was very well kept. Restaurant and bar next door was convenient, too. Room and in-room amenities were great; comfortable sofa and bed, hot shower and clean bathroom. Front desk staff was very friendly and efficient, and there is a small snack and sundries shop in the lobby area. Cinvenient to Iowa City and Coralville sports, hospitals and shopping, just off I-80. Would definitely stay here...

"The walls are thin, I could hear the neighboring visitors very clearly. Especially their kids! 12-2 am and then 8-10 am the kids were screaming and running around, jumping and hollering. I am a mother but never have I experienced a hotel allow this to happen so late at night. The receptionist also is not welcoming at all and is never at the front desk."

"The Iowa House is closing soon and it's obvious that there has been reinvestment into the property in quite some time. Everything about the hotel seems to be outdated and is in need for updating or repair -- which obviously isn't going to happen with the hotel closing. So, with that, the service is excellent and the location is ideal. The $300ish dollars a night seems fair considering market alternatives. Just know that the place is pretty worn down. "
