My husband and I recently stayed at this quaint spot for our babymoon, and while we appreciated its charming decor and cozy atmosphere, our experience was marred by several issues.
Upon arrival, we noticed a musty dampness in the air, which we initially overlooked. However, the problems persisted. In the kitchen, we found that the salt and pepper shakers were unusable—one was empty and the other had been exposed to moisture. We managed with the available supplies, attributing it to our own oversight for not being better prepared.
The streaming services were convenient, but we were uneasy to see an old guest's Netflix account still logged in, leading us to avoid using it. The coffee-making situation was even more problematic. An old tenant's makeshift paper towel filter was left in the coffee maker, and the coffee pot itself had burnt residue. Luckily, we had our own filters and could clean up and proceed.
Throughout our stay, the musty smell persisted, and ants began appearing under the door and on the countertops, which was quite frustrating. The lock also malfunctioned during our last two days, failing to engage properly despite our efforts to align it correctly which we got to work eventually.
I reached out to Pelican Rentals via email before writing this review, but have received no response. As a result, I can’t rate the service highly.
While the property offers a great environment and decor and C.K remains a favorite of mine, the stay fell short of expectations.
