Viagem a dois

This compact property is neither chic nor in an up-market area, but it is ideally situated for the railway station and both local and long-distance buses. It is quiet, feels very safe and has lots of kitchen gadgets as well as being good value. It was a great base for touring the area and a bit of self-catering.
What let it down was the interface from Expedia to Vrbo to Sweetstay. When we get confirmations of a booking from both Expedia and Vrbo without going via a payment page, we assume that all is OK and we will be met at the property at the time we say we will arrive. Then we can pay. Instead a string of messages asking for money began. Never before have we been asked for a deposit as well as the rent. We thought it was a scam so ignored it.
Vrbo's website was having problems, our phone batteries were dying and we wasted an entire afternoon of anxiety wondering whether we had been cheated out of several hundred euros before a key code suddenly arrived. Even though we had been told there was a check in and a greeter, we saw no-one in 6 days. Sweetstay seems to have a one-size fits all set of messages and its deposit taker only accepts US residential addresses - difficult if you come from the UK.
We shall avoid using Vrbo in future as our arrival was something we never wish to repeat. The proprietor of this handy property would do well to move to another platform in our view.
