Cogno Mill - The Ritrecine - Ancient mill immersed in the heart of Chianti

In the heart of Chianti, there is the Molino di Cogno, an ancient mill dating back to 1100, finely restored.

The mill still has original parts that allowed the processing of cereals. You can still see two large bottacci, and the ancient millpond (true works of hydraulic engineering) which extends for 400 meters starting from a stupendous waterfall about 7 meters high.

The mill is located in the municipality of Castellina in Chianti, surrounded by three large wineries, bordered by the Gena river, with a great variety of flora and fauna and various paths for nature walks.

Inside the mill there are the original ancient furnishings, also restored, which give the sensation of living in a bygone era. In ancient times the bedroom of this apartment was used by the then miller as a pigeon loft.

The Ritrecine is an apartment of approximately 50 m2 with 1 bathroom, kitchen and double bedroom. It is possible to accommodate two further people using a double sofa bed located in the living room-kitchen.
