Need to get away? Walk to two municipal beaches where residents gather for summer fun, picnicking, swimming, sand castle building or simply lazing in the sun.

Rowboats, paddle boats, canoes and small sailboats dot this quiet lake where no motors are allowed. The lake is stocked with muskies, northerns, bass and an array of panfish.

Winter has its own special attractions. When the lake freezes over, the ice is alive with hockey games, figure skaters, ice fishing fans and cross-country skiers.

The space
Looking for a lake-area retreat? Book this cozy 2-bedroom, 1-bath vacation cottage located in the adorable town of Oakwood Hills. Just minutes from quaint downtown Cary and Crystal Lake.

The fully equipped kitchen offers ample countertop space where you can prepare a home-cooked meal while your travel companions join you. Enjoy the feast at the nearby kitchen table. Looking to elevate your meal? Ditch the indoor table and cook out on the furnished deck complete with an outdoor grill.

After a day exploring the great outdoors, look forward to returning home for a leisurely afternoon. Curl up on the plush new living room sofa with a good book, or indulge in a quick snooze to refresh and recharge. Log on to WiFi, or watch your favorite movies on the flat-screen which includes YouTube TV programming for your viewing pleasure. Netflix, Hulu, and Prime are conveniently accessible as well.

At night, gather around the fire pit to roast marshmallows with your companions, before retiring to one of the inviting bedrooms for a good night's sleep.

Pack lightly when you travel to this lovely home, as you'll be able to refresh your laundry in the washer and dryer.

There is a large two car garage that is available to rent for $50 per day as an add on to your reservation... So your car will be protected!

Please Note: We enjoy our pets, but this house is strictly a "No Pets" house.

Our home is extensively sanitized between stays. Come and enjoy!

Security Cameras are on the outside of the house, and are recording during a reservation, NO cameras are inside the home or have a view of the inside of the house.

Noise detection sensors installed at the property – These devices monitor decibel levels at the property 24 hours a day and automatically notify us if noise levels are too high.

Wonderful location
This place was perfect for my husband, myself, and my mother. It was so cute and quaint. It reminded me of a nice little cottage in the woods. Where we live, we don’t have trees so having all of the grass and trees around was so refreshing! It’s not far from restaurants or grocery stores and depending on traffic not that far maybe an hour drive from Chicago.

Clean and Comfy
We very much enjoyed our stay. We were visiting family in Wauconda for the New Year only a 15 minute drive. Home was clean and comfy. We slept in the room right off the living room and the bed was very comfortable. The couch was nice to sit and lay on to read. Appreciated the information online and in the house. We contacted the agent on New Years day for the Roku password and he responded promptly. Would highly recommend. You have to climb stairs to get into the home though once in all is on one floor.

Our trip back home
This cute cottage had everything we needed to enjoy our trip back home for the week. Kitchen was well stocked. Loved that there was coffee and creamer! Plenty of towels and extra blankets. We enjoyed having morning coffee outside on the deck. The only thing we struggled with was replenishing the hot water for 5 of us to shower.

Perfect for Two Adults
This small property had everything that we needed in order to enjoy a visit with friends and family in the area. The location is a quiet lakeside community of well tended homes. Stores are only a few minutes away by car. We would definitely stay at this VRBO again if we are in the area!

Overall we had a great trip, 6 adults total. It was tight but we made it work. The property was in a nice area, clean, it did have a slight odor though. Mark was very communicative, we did have an issue checking in using the code that was provided but it was resolved quickly.

I would not recommend this house
I would not recommend this house to anyone. A few things for starters. There were ants, the water is horrible tasting and smelling, there is no path to the front door, the yard was overgrown and only the front was mowed but it looks very unkept. The bushes were all overgrown. The bedrooms were very small and connected by a small flimsy partition wall, you had to go through the shared bathroom to get to the bedroom. They were not private. The kitchen was nice and well stocked, best part about the house. The worst part about this stay was the neighbors. I had to call the police at 3am b/c the neighbor was VIOLENTLY yelling for over an hour in the middle of the night outside. They had people over until well into the morning being loud and obnoxious. The house next door has boarded up windows, and sculls in their yard. I asked the owners to check out early as I did not feel safe after that night. They did let me break our contract but I was only refunded the room rate, all of the fees, including sales tax I had to pay in full. There was over 65% our trip left so I lost a ton of money! VRBO did not help me out either. I will have a hard time justifying renting from VRBO again, it doesn't seem like they check out their properties and certainly weren't willing to look into my case.

Great place to stay!
We stayed here while my daughter had a 2 week intensive at PWC. The house was the perfect space and location and there is so many things to do within a short commute. Communication was easy with the property manager and the house was very clean and cozy. Highly recommend!

Excellent cozy cottage
We were looking for a nice quiet place to visit friends in the northwest suburbs and this is a gem. Great in the winter but during the summer I can see this place being amazing with its proximity to the lake and downtown Cary. I plan to go back in the summer.

My daughter and I stayed in this property for two weeks while my daughter was going through an intensive treatment program at PWC Chiropractic in Crystal Lake, IL. It was perfect for the two of us and only a 10 minute drive to Crystal Lake.

Home Away From Home
We were moving from AZ to IL and needed a place to stay that would allow us to be comfortable while we waited on our furniture to get delivered. It had everything we needed, extremely comfortable and a beautiful neighborhood. We now have a great place to recommend friends and family when they come to visit.

Cozy & clean remodel in a quiet neighborhood
The owners did a wonderful job remodeling this small home; it is very nicely decorated and neat as a pin. The kitchen is well-stocked with everything we needed for a 5-night stay and so is the bathroom. The shower is great and the bed in the front bedroom (only one we used) is very comfortable. The bedrooms are a bit small, but it was nice to have a queen-size bed. We were there during a very hot and humid stretch of weather, but the window AC unit in the living room did a sufficient job of keeping the entire house cool enough. Having a washer and dryer in the house was a very nice convenience since we were on a 10-day road trip. The outdoor spaces were nice, however it was too hot to spend much time on the deck, porch or in the yard. Best of all, the neighborhood was quiet and we enjoyed walks down to the beach areas on Silver Lake in the evenings. Great location for visiting family and friends in the area.

This a great place in a nice location. Close to lakes, trails, horseback riding, and golf. Easy to access restaurants, bars, and grocery stores. Quiet friendly neighborhood. House has everything you need for your stay.
