Relax by the sea & river! Remodeled Mid-Carmel Valley cottage retreat.

Follow the path of overarching trees to this self-contained guest house steps from the Carmel River. It's undergone a loving makeover. The farm-style cottage has everything needed for a peaceful, tranquil retreat, yet is conveniently close to shopping as well as spa and dining, visits to the Refuge, Carmel Valley Ranch and Bernardus Lodge. With no traffic, it takes about 12 minutes to downtown Carmel-by-the Sea and 8 minutes to downtown Carmel Valley.

The thoughtfully designed kitchen features a full-size refrigerator, chef’s gas stove, microwave, dishwasher and built in reverse osmosis water system. Double pane windows brighten the dining area. The living room features a 65-inch TV, Wi-Fi and electric fireplace. Step into the bedroom (with 55-inch TV) and discover a California king-size bed enrobed in Egyptian cotton linens.

Everything has been thought of, from easy parking to blackout shades on the windows. And the cottage environment is hypoallergenic in almost every way. Situated just beyond the fogline, the cottage can serve as your base for experiencing the beautiful Monterey Peninsula.

*** Please excuse the cottage unfinished but private front yard (not landscaped). The main house is rustic and waiting for a makeover. Please be aware of (possible) two dogs, greeting you on your arrival. Mizuno; yellow lab, 9 years. Wilson; white with black spots, 3 years. Owners live on site. You may or may not see them during your stay.

BEST Little Cottage
You would think you were at a country retreat but actually you are within a very short distance to anywhere you want to go on the Monterey Peninsula. It is so nice to leave crowded, busy Carmel by the Sea and the damp fog and have sunshine and quiet when you want it. The cottage itself is so comfortable, cozy and clean (and very up to date!). In addition, the hosts are wonderful. Would 100% recommend.

This property was definitely a home away from home. The owners have taken great care to think of everything to make a stay more enjoyable down to robes and slippers. This home was spotless and the bed/ linens some of the most comfortable that we have had. The owners are next door so while there was mutual respect for privacy they were friendly and very approachable. The neighborhood was quiet and felt safe. Located close to many attractions we were able to spend our days sightseeing and then our evenings relaxing. This house was perfect!

Great Stay in the Valley
This property gives you the privacy and sunshine in mid Carmel Valley. It's a great location for exploring any place on the Monterey peninsula. The hosts are absolutely the nicest people and respond immediately to any question or issue. The cottage itself is so pretty with windows that open, a comfortable bed, a creek where you can enjoy a glass of wine. Would highly recommend!!

My husband and I booked here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and are so glad we did. This cottage is beautiful! We were able to relax all weekend and enjoyed how quiet it was. Jung and David are so kind and made us feel right at home. We look forward to booking again soon.

Carmel Valley Cottage
This is our 2nd time staying at the cottage and it's almost like coming back home. Very comfortable bed, clean shower and bath area, and the kitchen is very well stocked with appliances for cooking. Everything is well taken care of and the hosts are the nicest people. We love it!!

Serenity for the week
Jung was a pleasure! The cozy cottage with the stream in the back was just what I was hoping. The kitchen was the best kitchen to cook in. I got to even make my smoothies every morning. Highly recommend this gem in the mountains.

Perfect getaway for the Monterey Peninsula
Having lived in Carmel Valley for over 30 years and on the Monterey Peninsula for 56 I knew this would be the best location for our trip. Good proximity to all the Peninsula has to offer and possibly the best weather (especially in the summertime!). The cottage was just as advertised . . . quiet, peaceful, stylish, comfortable, well-stocked and appointed, and very clean. We could not have asked for a better space. Jung and David were great hosts and we would highly recommend this wonderful place to spend your time on the Monterey Peninsula! Tewrry & Suzanne

Best Little Cottage in the Carmel Valley!
Beautifully appointed & remodeled. Plenty of towels, toiletries & top notch kitchenware. Inviting, comfy down comforter & empty dressers/night stands with plenty of outlets & giant TV in the bedroom. Beautiful living room with very comfortable furniture, another giant TV, throws & pillows to cuddle up & watch a movie. Incredible views of green, lush landscape. We can't wait to visit again!

Tranquil cottage
Great little cottage at the end of a private, peaceful road lined with beautiful coastal oaks. Fully equipped kitchen, even with butter and cream in the refrigerator. Nice size bedroom with a comfortable king size bed. Lots of windows to let in the light, and the cool evening breeze. One of our favorites!

Perfection!
My husband and I enjoyed every single minute of our 5-day stay in this wonderful cottage. The cottage is beautifully decorated and has everything one needs. Jung has thought of everything her guests will need in order to have the best vacation! One of our favorite things to do while at the cottage was to go down by the river and drink coffee and just relax! I highly recommend this cottage and I can’t wait to go back to the area and stay here again!

Our stay at Jung and David's cottage was a dream come true. The cottage was impeccably clean and incredibly comfortable, providing the perfect retreat for our birthday getaway. Being conveniently located near both Carmel-by-the-Sea and Carmel Valley Village, we had easy access to explore the surrounding area. Jung and David were exceptional hosts, going above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction throughout our stay. Their warmth and hospitality made us feel truly welcomed, and we enjoyed getting to know them, their two lovely dogs, and hearing about the chickens on their property. Their recommendations for dining and local attractions were spot-on, enhancing our overall experience. The highlight of our trip was not only local tourist attractions everyone is there to see, but also spending time by the river, lounging in the Adirondack chairs, and reconnecting with nature. The lush greenery surrounding the cottage at this time of the year added to the tranquility of the setting, making it a truly memorable experience. In conclusion, our time at Jung and David's cottage was nothing short of magical. We left feeling refreshed and rejuvenated, grateful for the wonderful memories created during our stay. We highly recommend this charming retreat to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway in the Carmel area. We can't wait to return!

A wonderful Solo Vacay!
I am so so happy I came across this property when booking for my trip/visit to Carmel.Jung was such a wonderful and gracious host and was surely not kidding about the greetings from Mizuno and Wilson! Such a wonderful cherry on top of an already wonderful stay. Not only is the cottage space absolutely breathtaking, but it is truly stocked with all the amenities you need, plus some nice extras. I loved the addition of the robes in the closet! Such a chic touch and made for an extra comfortable stay. The soaps and shampoos/conditioners in the shower were really great too! And the candles place around the space helped to warm the space up. The bed was super comfortable and the kitchen amenities of coffee, tea, and cooking utensils were really nice. All in all I had a beautiful stay and have been doing nothing but recommending this place to everyone I talk to about my trip. Truly one of a kind hospitality:) Cannot wait to come back!
