"We had a wonderful stay at Deer Haven. The house was clean and very comfortable. The views were amazing, and the hot tub was perfect after long days of hiking. "My husband and I stayed at this property for his birthday getaway for 1 night and loved it. I was pleasantly surprised that it was just as it appears in the picture. The place was clean and the bed was so comfortable! I would just be mindful that you’re in the middle of nowhere and the closest store like Walmart or the gas station is about 30 mins away, so just prepare in advance for that. I would also make sure you double check in advance with the host for your key code to enter the property...

"The cabin was nicely located on the river, but was a little loud at times from truck noise on the road. Interior was clean and comfortable. The code wasn't updated at check-in, and it took us about 5-10 minutes of standing outside at night to get it resolved. Also, the guest house lights randomly went on during our second evening and shone bright lights into the cabin. Manager did not respond until the next morning."

"This was our 3rd or 4th stay at this lovely and comfortable farmhouse. Kathleen is an excellent host; kind, caring, responsive, and communicative. The property, both inside and out is beautiful, and we absolutely love the rescue steer residents. We enjoyed Happy Hour by the river and daily hikes in Shenandoah National Park and other local parks. We will happily return again. "

"This VRBO is a hidden gem, located deep in the woods. The road was a bit rough but once you get to the rental it's all worth it. The deck and backyard offer a breathtaking view. "River Perch was amazing! We had a wonderful family long weekend in November with our two labs. Even in November, the kids and dogs had a fantastic time in the water- tubing, fishing and wading. The river was relatively shallow- no deeper than thigh high on my 12 year old. My husband tried to fish, but after 3 days gave up. Super quiet, clean, remote and has everything you need.
