Mountain Gem

Welcome to our mountain retreat. From this brand new home nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, you’ll enjoy expansive views of Pilot Mountain and Mt. Airy.
Located in a private gated community this home is located in a secluded area at the end of a cul-de-sac. When you enter the front door you enter a bright and warm open living space with a
fully equipped kitchen to the left. There is a kitchen table with seating for 4 and a
counter bar with seating for 2. To the right you will find a living room with a
sectional sofa, recliner and a wall of windows to take in the wondrous view. The
living room has a 60” smart tv above a gas fireplace.
The master bedroom boasts a queen bed with memory foam mattress and en suite
bathroom with a large shower. The master bedroom has a smart tv.
The 2nd bedroom is off the living room and has a double bed. Right outside this
bedroom you’ll find the second full bathroom with shower/tub combo.
Additionally in the unfinished basement we have a queen bed, washer dryer, ping
pong table and lower deck with table chairs.

A Huge Disappointment
My husband and I stayed at Mountain Gem last Labor Day with some friends. So this complaint is not against the facility, but the host AMANDA MOORE. As the link suggested, if you have not heard anything about checking in instructions you are to contact the host. I contacted the host, the weekend before I was to make the trip on a Monday. I NEVER got a response back. I even checked on the morning we left, but still didn’t hear back. We were two hours on the road, when I received a call from her stating she over booked and apologized for the mistake. I was very upset! We had planned this trip June 1st to visit with a dear friend who was going through cancer treatment. She offered another place,with no charge, but it wasn’t close to where we needed to be. BOOKING ON OTHER PLATFORMS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND LACK OF RESPONSIBILITY FROM THIS HOST! We were refunded our money.

Girl's Trip
Perfect getaway for our annual Girl's Trip. Well appointed home with nice linens, comfy beds with ample pillows and blankets. Kitchen well stocked with cookware and utensils. Beautiful view. We would definately stay again. Thank you for sharing your special home one with us!

The house was nice with an unfinished basement. No bathroom down in the basement. It did have stink bugs and large black ants inside. They seemed to dissapear a bit after the first 24 hours. There is foam on top of all of the bed matresses that seems to have been cut and placed and the beds were not very comfortable.The road leading to the property was very curvy and steep in areas. Once you get to a certain point only one vehicle can fit. In clear weather it was ok and after driving it in clear weather a few times it might have been more tolerable.However, the majority of our trip was rainy and foggy and it was not easy making that drive in the fog with limited visibility. There is nothing stating the road conditions of the road where the property is located. After the second night we ended up renting somewhere else and left, my nerves couldn't handle that road in the fog any longer. Surely i am not the only person who feels this way. I messaged the owner and she said she was sorry "I felt this way, " as she hasn't had any complaints. If you're not accustomed to driving extremely steep, narrow, curvy mountain roads people should be made aware. There is no need for a response as you never have to worry about me going back on that road that i was not prepared for!

Great weekend getaway
This is the perfect place for a relaxing weekend with friends. The directions from then host were perfect and the house is just as described. We really enjoyed waking up and watching the sunrise and our daily visits from deer friends. The house had everything we needed.

What a great vacation rental! We loved the layout, the fabulous deck, the view, the wildlife, the privacy. Kitchen was well stocked. Decor was modern and tasteful. Will come back again for sure!!

Family trip
We spend a few days in the mountains and absolutely loved it! The view was incredibly beautiful 😍. The house was just as the pictures, clean and spacious. The deck: 👍👍👍. As soon as the basement is done, it’s going to be even better. If ever in the area again, we are definitely coming back!
