Disappointing - there are better options in Cairo
The check in process was fraught and stressful. The manager/ owner did not want to provide an address until the last minute. Then I requested an early check-in--just an hour or two early--and was promptly sent a bill for 80$. I refused this and said I would check in at the appointed time - 4pm. Then the host said that she would let me check in early - the time repeatedly changed. In the end I waited on the street for an hour and finally checked in at 4pm. The flat was moderately clean but needs some repairs - the showers all drain slowly and a cabinet door was falling off. The host/ owner has a very strict notice in the flat about the need to report any damage within 24 hours. When I checked in the power was off so I could not see that well. Upon being in the flat, I noted a number of issues. I photographed them and tried to send them. Yet more stress as the photos would not upload. Only after repeated texts did the host/ owner finally send me a working email. Then there is the issue of electricity - the owner only let me know that they only provide a certain amount of credit after I had checked in. After the provided amount runs out, the renter is responsible. This was another source of stress. The flat is not located where indicated on google maps. It is actually much closer to a flyover and thus was noisier than expected. I have stayed in VRBOS in multiple countries - this was the most stressful stay I have ever had.
