Harbour View Apartments - Spectacular Sea Views - Close to Derrynane Beach

This one bedroom apartment is available for LONG TERM RENTAL. If you are looking to work/live in the area, this apartment is available for long term rental. Please send an enquiry with any questions or queries. We will be happy to help.
Located along "The Wild Atlantic Way" it has spectacular Sea Views overlooking Derrynane Harbour & The Atlantic Ocean.
It is one of 3 apartments available on this property.
Located on the 1st floor “The Scarriff Apartment “ has a twin bedroom with a bathroom. It can sleep up to 4 people with a pull out sofa bed.
The open plan kitchen/dining area is fully equipped for all your needs.
A separate shared laundry facility room with a washing machine & dryer & also an outdoor clothes line are located at the back of the house. There is a small charge for using the machines.
Outside there is a seating area in the garden, perfect for soaking up the beautiful views.
It is a safe area with private parking onsite.
The owners Eddie and Eileen live onsite, so they are always available if you need anything, and they will be happy to share their local knowledge of all the best places to go and to see.

Most amazing view ever
Nice place with an exciting viwe to the one of most beautiful places in Ireland. You can easity walk to small harbour below. Close to Darynane Beach. Pub only reachable by car.

Quiet getaway with spectacular views

Super semaine dans cette petite maison idéalement placée pour visiter le Kerry. Eileen est très gentille, aussi disponible que discrète. La vue sur la baie est magnifique, et la plage de Derrynane est un petit paradis. A conseiller vivement!

"Lovely Seclusive Get Away"
This fantastic little spot overlooking the Derrynane Harbor holds true Irish Culture! "Misty" the little dog greeted me, while Eileen (the owner) was so kind to help me get settled before going on about her weekly errands. The lovely view is true as the pictures. A walk up to Scariff Inn gave way to a bustling Restaurant alive with tourists and friendly staff! Especially helpful when looking for a "lift" to nearby towns. (Thank You 🍀Mary for the recommendation and to 🍀💚 Sean for the lift!) Don't know how I would have gotten along with out ya! I felt comfortable and safe at "The Harbor View" apartments, as I was a woman travelling alone, this is important for good rest! I would recommend to friends and will return! Thank you! 💋💋🍀💚

Die Lage des Hauses ist sehr schön, das Apartment etwas zu spartanisch
Keine Frage, Ring of Kerry ist einfach eine sehr schöne Gegend – und dort Meerblick und Wanderwege vor dem Haus sind super …. Wir waren drei Personen im Apartment – es war sauber aber das Apartment braucht mehr Kochutensilien – und Geschirr (es gab keine Schalen oder Schüsseln, außer vier Müsli-Schalen) und das Bad braucht Stangen oder Hacken für Handtücher und Ablageflächen für Shampoo, Cremen, Zahnbürsten usw . (Waschbecken allein ist zu wenig), denn sonst ist es mühsam ein wenig Ordnung zu halten (wohin mit feuchten Handtüchern). Auch Ablageflächen in den Zimmern wäre von Vorteil, denn sonst habe man nur das Fensterbrett im Schlafzimmer und den Tisch im Wohnbereich.

Great location
The view from lounge and bedroom were the best thing of this property. We had to wash all crockery and shelves before use. Pans were old and dirty so unusable. Only one dirty dish for oven use. Nothing suitable for microwave use. Hot tap in bathroom locked and hence unusable. Reported on first day but not fixed. Thin wall between bedroom and next apartment so disturbed most nights after we’d gone to bed. Rang previous day to arrival to arrange to pick up key. Next day was contacted to check on our booking. When we arrived were told our booking hadn’t been written down!! We were fortunate the apartment was free!

L'Irlande comme on la rêve
Ce gîte mérite toutes les appréciations élogieuses que j'ai trouvées sur le site lorsque j'ai réservé. Le logement est très agréable : c'est un 2 pièces spacieux et clair, bien aménagé, équipé simplement mais comme il faut. La propriétaire est à la fois discrète et serviable. Le site est fantastique et l'appartement dispose d'une vue incroyable à 180° : sur la droite, au large : Deenish et Scariff Islands ; devant : au premier plan, les prairies qui descendent vers la mer ; en contrebas une petite baie abrite un port naturel pour quelques bateaux avec possibilité de sports nautiques ; au-delà vue sur Kenmare River, avec au loin la péninsule de Beara ; à gauche, aperçu sur Derrynane Bay.

Séjour très agréable
Vue superbe, depuis ce petit appart (à l'étage) bien agréable, avec des extérieurs dont on peut profiter. Comptez une demi-heure de descente à marcher dans les lacets entre les vaches et les moutons pour arriver au petit port, idem à la montée. Le chemin est agréable, et à partir du port, un autre sentier au bas des collines mène à une très belle plage (rajouter 20 minutes). Chouette musique et ambiance au pub à Caherdaniel. Et adorable centre équestre tout près avec belle balade au bord de la mer. A côté, une ferme fait de la vente directe de légumes.

"Stuck!"
That's the word the property owner used to describe my plight without a car. At 72, I had no intention of renting a car & mistakenly thought I would be near the village of Caherdaniel. I should have done my homework before leaving. The village was about four miles away, cost of a taxi was 20 euros one way so I walked the distance. The apartment was clean, large, and had spectacular country views. Bring your own coffee pot & toaster as there is no pot there & the toaster needed to be replaced with a new one. Bed was comfortable, bathroom clean, washer & dryer downstairs at three euros each, or you could use the clothesline outside. If you're looking for a quiet place close to the ocean & hiking Harbour View can't be beat. I loved every minute of my stay, even without a car. The area is beautiful beyond words if country life is your interest.

Beautiful location! Speechless! Gracious host!
Our cottage by the sea was perfect! Sweet, small and manageable. Very comfortable and cozy! Our host was so gracious and delightful that we already want to go back just to visit! All this before we even mention the location! Stunning! Beautiful beaches and mountains and islands and hiking trails! Pure bliss and beauty! We can not recommend this enough. ❤️

Wundervolle Aus- und Einblicke
Sehr freundliche und hilfsbereite Gastgeber, saubere Unterkunft, mit allem, was man braucht... Ideal für Wanderungen oder Strandspaziergänge gelegen, mit Möglichkeiten, irische Originale und Kultur zu erleben... So muss für uns Urlaub sein, erholsam und trotzdem erlebnisreich... Für uns als Festland-und teils Stadtratten war es ein Ort, an dem wir die Zeit sehr genossen haben, über Vieles staunen konnten und unsere Fahrfähigkeiten unter für uns extremen Gegebenheiten immer wieder testen konnten/mussten. Wir danken unseren lieben Gastgebern für diese wunderbare Urlaubsmöglichkeit. Lange habe ich nicht mehr so gut schlafen können! Gerne kommen wir irgendwann wieder! Liebe Grüße Margitta und Katrin

Vacation for the Soul
I rented the apartment for a month and really enjoyed the area. The views from the house are incredible. The Key Way runs directly in front of the house. It's wonderful to see the little lambs and sheep every day. You can hear them talking all day. It's completely dark at night and you see many stars as this is directly in the Kerry International Dark Sky Reserve. It's the only place in the Northern hemisphere designated as having zero light pollution. There are only three designated places in the world, the other two are in the southern hemisphere. Eileen is a fantastic host. Very accommodating and always ready to be of assistance. There are laundry facilities in the apartment. I was even invited to a barbeque but unfortunately I was taking a weekend trip and missed it. Waterville is a great place close by for shopping. Killarney is only 1.5 hours away and the apartment is directly on the Wild Atlantic Way. The apartment itself is very clean and basic. You have what you need to cook, eat, etc. Excellent Wi-Fi in the Deenish Apartment. Very safe area. We will be back!

Everything one needs, with spectacular views
I stayed in the Scarriff apartment, while my sister and her family were on the other side of the building in the two story Snug Apartment. Mine included two twin beds in the bedroom, and a separate kitchen/living room/breakfast nook area. The breakfast nook with window seats overlooking the glorious fields, sea, and islands was a delight. Just walking around the hillside near the apartments, one can enjoy fields of sheep (we were there in lambing season for extra fun), interesting abandoned famine houses, and the subtle remains of an ancient ringfort. An entrance to the Kerry Way is nearby, or one can walk down to the sea and follow the Mass Path over to Abbey Island and Derrynane.

Stunning Views and comfortable accommodations.
The pictures are accurate. Study them well. It has everything that you need. There is a kitchen with microwave, stove, sink and small frig. It is connected to a couch and table with chairs overlooking the Wild Atlantic. The views are incredible. I asked if we could have two beds and they were able to accommodate it. The bathroom is very small and the shower is small in size. The water pressure is not real strong, but you can get clean. My only negative with all of that was, there is absolutely no where to hand towels up other than on the shower and doors. There is nothing fancy about this place. But it will get your rest and relaxation. The thing I liked the best was that it was not as costly as others and the views were incredible. Irene met us and took good care of us. There is a full size washer and dryer that you share with the other units so you have to take it when you can. They do cost 3 euros each to use. If you are looking for the basic accommodations, you will love this place. If you want some glamor and glitz, not so much. But you will rest here.
