"We felt like we were at home, only better. The porch swing was a big hit with the entire family - perfect for enjoying a gorgeous view. Very well stocked kitchen. "First, the host Alex, is incredible! Stayed in contact before, right after we checked in to be sure all was good and right after we checked out. GOLD star Alex!! The property was incredible! Nice surprise was the soft water system. Fire pit was very nice as well. Kitchen well appointed and clean. Memory foam mattresses and extremely comfortable. Property secluded and private. All in all…6 stars in my book!!"

"The property does have a slight slant on the first floor which can be fun after a few adult beverages. The house was clean and provided all the things i needed. The host communicated the door number the morning off as promised. The only complaint i would have is the pool table is too big for that room and the dart board is missing the darts. I would rent this house again next time I'm in Roanoke. "

"Cool cabin, peaceful and quiet. Very basic items were provided. Bring your own kitchen and bath items, like baking dish, spices, cooking oil, condiments, shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer, etc. Washer and dryer in the bathroom was convenient. You have to hand wash dishes since no dishwasher. Trout in the pond are used to being fed with fish food rather than hunting for natural food. Lol. Saw couple turkeys and couple deer around the pond. Lots of birds and squirrels."

"A couple friends and I went fishing on the upper James and rented the River's Bend cabin. What a fabulous place! The cabin was clean, spacious, and well-appointed with everything we needed for a 3-day getaway. "Another mom and I spent two nights in the Alone Mill Schoolhouse while our sons enjoyed a weekend tour of VMI. The house was close to campus and offered all the conveniences we needed. The setting was beautiful! I wish we would have had more time to enjoy our surroundings! Maybe we will stay here again if our boys become cadets!"
