Secluded, Sam Rayburn Lakefront Cabin. Perfect Getaway for Hunters and Anglers.

This cozy cabin is located on 5 1/2 shaded, totally private acres, in a quiet cove on Lake Sam Rayburn. The cabin sits back on the lot so there is a limited lake view; however, it is only a short walk down the wooded path to the lake. The cabins exterior, windows, doors, flooring and paint were all completely updated again in December 2020. Amenities include Wifi, flat screen TV's with Dish Network in the living room and every bedroom, a fire pit for roasting marshmallows and s'mores as well as games such as badminton, horseshoes, washers, and ladders. Guests also have access to a 3 man canoe and a kayak for fishing in the cove. For the fisherman, there is a stainless steel fish cleaning station next to the cabin. While we do offer the cabin to those hunting in the Angelina Forest, no hunting or target practice is allowed on the property. If you bring your boat, you can conveniently launch it at Powell Park Marina which is located only a couple of miles away. After a fun filled day pulling skiers/tubes or fishing, you can tie up your boat to the property (providing lake level is at or above 160 elevation). If you do not bring a boat, you can easily rent one at Powell Park Marina. Powell Park also rents tubes, skis, knee boards, etc. as well as jet skis. The marina also has a sandy beach and an Aqua Park that can be used by day visitors who pay a fee. If no boat, you can also grab a rod and reel (bring your own bait and tackle) off the rack in the dining room and fish from the floating dock, kayak or from the canoe! OR just grab a book and hang out in the hammocks, on the rockers on the screened-in porch or the chairs around the fire pit and do nothing but relax!

When the water level is down, Powell Park marina is less than 2 miles away and on a deep cove. They offer covered boat slips for daily rental fee. Powell Park Marina also sells fuel both on land and on the water. Powell Park also has a convenience store and café that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Secluded Perfection

Perfect secluded quiet getaway. Kids could play in the screened in area while meals were being prepared. Or just be loud and play outside whenever we were at the cabin. Loved the short drive to Powell park for when I didn’t feel like cooking. Overall, we had a great time!

Disappointed
When we arrived at check in time we had no power due to storms that had knocked the power out and without electricity there was little to no water pressure so we stayed the one night without power hoping it would come back on the next day but that didn’t happen so we came home a day early. When I talked to the one of the owners he said they could maybe give us a partial refund and they gave me back $125. But we payed over $600 for the weekend so we should have at least received half to be fair since we didn’t use any power at all and I understand it’s nobody’s fault about the power but we did pay alot of money to sit in the dark with no water.

Cabin Stay
The cabin is hard to find and has no reception for most in the area. Road to cabin is very rough on a vehicle. Very common to lose power in a storm. Very far from any gas station or food

Great place to stay plenty of parking for 2 boats and the boat ramp is really close….the cabin was pretty nice… grill an fire pit was nice spent a lot of time on the screened in porch all in all it was a great place an awesome trip

Great Home and Location
Lake was down pretty low and still could pull my boat up to the property. Pure isolation. Can’t see another house from this property. Awesome back yard and great house. Only negative is no dishwasher so bring paper plates and silverware. Would definitely rent again

Great Lil Cabin in the woods
The cabin in secluded, clean and was a GREAT place to stay. Location is great for a fishing trip with access to the water, or just a get-away to relax and enjoy everything the cabin and scenery has to offer. The hosts are great and very accommodative. Definitely plan on staying there again soon.

Cozy Seclusion
There were so many good things about this property for our family. This wasn't like a lot of other VRBO listings where you just rent out one floor or the houses are like they are in Galveston where they're 10 ft apart if you're lucky. This property was in a small subdivision several hundred yards down a dirt road behind a locked gate. I absolutely loved that. At no point over the weekend did we feel crowded or like we had no privacy while laying in the hammock or walking along the Lakeshore. The property itself is huge and there are actually several houses situated behind the gate but none of them are close enough to see each other.The house had plenty of room for our family of six. The master suite is on the bottom floor and the other two rooms are on the top floor. This was nice for my wife and I as we were able to spend some time when the kids went to bed watching TV and having snacks without waking them lol The back porch was awesome as well with seating for eight on really comfortable chairs with a ton of surprise outdoor equipment to play with. The canoe is huge and even though the lake was a little low to put it in we definitely plan on using it next time. The owner responded quickly to any questions we had and was super friendly. Check in was easy. I'm honestly kind of annoyed that VRBO is only giving me 1500 characters because I would love to leave even more than that on this review. We have already decided we'll be back for sure. 10/10

Perfect place to be with nature
The property was the perfect place for us to spend our 25 anniversary. Very cozy and quiet with plenty to do. The lake was down by the cabin but with a ten minute drive to the marina it was still a beautiful sight, We seen otters, deer, eagles and beautiful blackbirds. Then after leaving the marina for the day we went back to the cabin and would sit out by the fire for hours enjoying the sounds of the night. In the morning we would sit outside on the screened in poach enjoying the morning with a coffee and sounds of birds. This is a very relaxing and enjoyable place to make memories. We can’t wait to plan our next vacation there,To us it’s a small place of Heaven on Earth❤️ I really would like to say Thank to Mr. Brent for all his help and fast response to us.

peaceful setting, old cabin
The setting is lovely, very secluded and peaceful. But the cabin could use some TLC. The wifi didn't work, which other reviewers have noted as well, so it seems to be a common occurrence. There's no dishwasher so be prepared to wash all plates/utensils/pots/pans by hand (or bring disposable items.) There's no central AC; every room has a window unit and they're pretty noisy. It woke us up every time the cooling cycle kicked on and it was difficult to keep the upstairs bedrooms a consistent comfortable temperature. The floating dock had been removed so my husband was pretty disappointed he was unable to take the kids fishing. But the biggest disappointment was just the uncleanliness. The porch had a ton of spiderwebs and dirt as well as trash left from previous guests. The sheets were dirty. The showerhead didn't function well (most of the water flows out of the faucet instead) and the drain was very slow. It seems like the exterior of the cabin has been maintained/upgraded but the inside needs improvement. We loved the beautiful peaceful setting but the cabin itself needs some work and a deep cleaning.

We had the best time staying here! The location was perfect! The house was clean and cozy. Not far from the marina store and beach for swimming. We would love to stay here again.
