Get away from it all and enjoy a unique, private rural experience in this lovely renovated cottage only 7.5kms from Bright

Set high on a working cattle farm this 80 year old fully renovated cottage and its surroundings will provide you with tranquility, restfulness and plenty of good clean fresh alpine air. Sitting on the verandah of the cottage one has a clear view of Mt Feathertop, Mt Hotham and Mt Bogong which are spectacular all year round. At night the stars are clear and feel incredibly close to you, so great for star gazing.

Approximately an 8 minute drive from the centre of Bright where there are plenty of quaint shops, restaurants, supermarkets and pubs for you to explore and enjoy. A little further afield is a 35 minute trip to Mt Beauty, or 45 minutes to Mt Hotham for a days skiing in the winter or 60 minutes to Mt Buffalo where the kids can play in the snow or bush walk in the warmer months.

Access to the Ovens river for fishing, swimming or relaxing is only a 2 minute car drive, short walk or an easy bike ride. Also, an easy bike ride into Bright for bike enthusiasts.

This property is managed on behalf of the owner by Bright Holidays (part of the Dickens Real Estate group).

A split system in the lounge will keep you cool in Summer and warm in Winter.

Quaint Retreat

Cozy farm cottage to stay

It's nice place to stay, was bit concerning about heating system(it's very cold in the morning & night nowadays) as it stated that only1 split system in the lounge room. we are glad to know that the new heating was installed in the bathroom, pls there are electric blankets in the bedrooms as well. not very happy with the press of hot water, not much hot water comes out even we turn it to the max (really need to fix it as there is not enough hot water to wash my hair due to the low pressure), the show head is bit outdated. other than that, we're happy to stay

The location was perfect, however, there were cobwebs everywhere, dust, dead insects and overall lack of hygiene. Clearly the place had not been cleaned in a very long time.

Great cottage

Great cottage - very quaint and quiet which was a good respite from the very busy town centre! Kids had a ball running around and looking at the cows. Awesome hydrangeas too šŸ˜

Peaceful and welcoming

Located in the middle of farmland, the cottage provides a tranquil and peaceful location. Itā€™s close enough to Bright to ride in, and access to shops, cafes etc in Bright is easy. The house is sunny, and has a vet ā€˜old cottageā€™ feel. Nearly everything we needed in the kitchen was there. We slept really well, and the beds were comfy. The airconditioner / heater needs service or replacement (noisy) - but our time there wasnā€™t effected too much by this because of the weather.

Cosy Cabin

Stayed there in Summer, easy to walk down to the creek and cool down, great access to the cycling path, nice property with Feathertop view when you are in the garden, nice cosy wooden style interior. Heating options in Winter might need an update but I cannot really comment on it because we stayed in the summer season.

High country farm

We have just returned from 4 nights in a small farmhouse surrounded by fields of cattle and nestled in the hills between Bright and Harrietville. It was peaceful here, a world away from what can be the bustle of Bright on a busy holiday period. We easily managed the 5-6 km bike ride into Bright from the house. The kitchen lighting was a bit dim but aside from this our stay was very comfortable and we would happily stay here again. Thankyou to the owners for lending your much loved house to us.
