We're leaving a poor review due to the smell of the property and VRBO and the owner not being responsive. When we arrived, we found the neighborhood to be clean and convenient but the trouble started when we got to the door. We could smell something right away that we thought was either the neighbors or maybe the pond in the back yard. After we figured out the door code, we saw that the apartment appeared clean but was dusty, and the odor was inside too. That night, when we turned on the shower we found the major source of the smell was actually the water heater. The hot water carried a rotten egg smell that filed all the rooms with an intolarable stench. All attempts to communicate with VRBO and the property owner regarding the door code and the smells were ignored, with the VRBO app gave us errors. Trying the email and phone number the owner left in a welcome binder was also ineffective. We were ignored and stuck in this property for three nights dealing with putrid water. Also, we wished we would have noticed that the bedroom doesn't have a dresser or hangers so we had to dress out of the suitcase. At the end of our stay, housekeeping was unprofessionally entering the property 15 minutes before checkout which made us feel rushed.
