High above Trip Advisor’s “Prettiest Small Town in America”, The Sunset House is our newly renovated 101 year old, two floor bungalow. Privately nestled into 1.5 acres, it’s surrounded by forest with sweeping year round sunset views and 240 degree winter views. Just 5 minutes from Black Mountain and only 20 minutes up I-40 to Asheville, this 4 bedroom, 3 bath (2 full, 1 half) open floor plan home preserves it’s original river rock foundation, fireplace and wood plank ceilings but features a just completed “to the studs” renovation. New everything!
Interior features and amenities: Families will find laundry is easy with new, stacked Samsung washer and dryer. Be among the first to cook on the smooth top range in the bright kitchen equipped perfectly with ALL NEW pots and pans, dishes, silverware, glassware, and every cooking utensil you could ever need. No sad castoffs for this chef! The cozy keeping room adjacent to the kitchen has a spectacular, river rock fireplace that, while no longer functioning, simmered large soup pots in the early 1900’s.
While chopping vegetables, visit across the granite kitchen island with your friends in our comfortable living room overlooking the Swannanoa Valley. Turn off the 55” 4K flat screen TV and gather round the dining table with your whole group to play cards or an assortment of board games.
Exterior features and amenities: Outdoors, you can compete with your family and friends on our regulation cornhole court or build a roaring fire and take in the sunset view around our custom stone fire pit. Before dinner, gather together for cocktails on the large back deck with evening valley views glowing from fiery orange to deep red. Or, slip around to the front deck with a local, craft beer and a good book.
Accommodations: Our 4 bedrooms ensure privacy for even a larger group. One couple will enjoy the primary bedroom on the main floor with its crisp, white, en suite bath. Two downstairs bedrooms feature spacious queens and the third has a twin daybed with trundle that can convert into a queen bed! The daybed bedroom has a wall mounted state of the art 55 inch Roku TV that will keep the kids occupied at the end of an active day. The downstairs bedrooms share a large, modern bath. For larger groups, there is a queen sleeper sofa with a comfortable gel mattress in the living room. The half bath on this floor makes this the perfect “fifth bedroom”.
If you can tear yourself away, you are only minutes from award-winning Black Mountain and Asheville restaurants, breweries, boutique shopping, hiking, biking and every other outdoor activity you can imagine. The famed Blue Ridge Parkway is just a 15 minute drive away. It is rare to find nature and seclusion paired with easy access to town and outdoor activities. We know our calendar will fill up quickly so reserve your inaugural visit to The Sunset House now!
