Woodview Cottage is a 4 bedroom cottage located 2.5 miles from Banagher town in Co. Offaly in the midlands of Ireland. The cottage is in a very peaceful tranquil location beside the River Shannon whilst at the same time being very well placed to tour the midlands and west of Ireland. Woodview Cottage has recently been fully refurbished and is very warm and cosy.
There is a fully equipped kitchen with a microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator freezer, free standing cooker and a full range of utensils.
There is a living/dining room with a solid fuel stove which heats the radiators and the domestic water. There is seating for 6 at the table and a suite of furniture.

We have a large garden and ample storage facilities to the rear of the property which is ideal for the fishermen to store their tackle and bait and plenty of private parking for the boats.
Banagher is famous for its fishing, boat tours, bog walks and its irish music, J.J. Houghs is renowned internationally for its traditional irish music and great characters. You can visit Lough Boora Park and hire out bikes and explore the many trails through the wetlands and grasslands of this beautiful park. Lough Boora is an anglers haven with ample supplies of tench and roach.
We are 43km from Athlone where you can visit the Athlone Castle Visitor Centre, Glendeer Pet Farm and the Derryglad Folk and Heritage Museum. There are beautiful boat tours from Athlone Marina including a trip on the Viking Longship which has a capacity for 71 passengers or you can visit Bay Sports at Hudson Bay which is home to the largest floating water park in Ireland and one of the largest floating water slides in the world. There is also kayaking and sailing rentals available or simply have a picnic beside Lough Ree.
We are well placed for a trip to Galway City which is a top tourist destination. You can visit the Galway city museum whose exibits demonstrate Ireland's age old connection to the sea. A visit to Galway's famous Spanish Arch is a must and take a wander down Shop Street with its beautiful antique shops and fish restaurants and experience the many street buskers. You can take a drive to Conemara or a boat trip to the Aran Islands. We are also in a great position for you to take a tour to the Burren and Bunratty Castle.
