Come and stay in this awesome mountain setting with access to all the outdoor activities listed. This is a great place to bring your friends and family! This is a beautiful log cabin, nestled among the trees and plenty of privacy. It is fully furnished with comfortable beds. The kitchen is also fully equipped with all the cooking items you might need. The river is just a short walk from the cabin. The fishing is outstanding. House is listed for sale guest may have to let realtors show the house.

Disappointed for the price
When we first arrived the property looked fine. Once we were inside we did notice lights flickering, and an inordinate amount of bugs. The flickering lights led us to leave many of them off most of the time. The advertised grill was inoperable and extremely dirty. Were were unable to use it even though that was a selling point for the property. The kitchen sink faucet had terrible water pressure for the first few days and stopped working all together on our last night. When we contacted the owner, his suggestions were to have us do the repairs. On a vacation is not typically where i am wanting to do maintenance on someone else's property. Overall we were extremely disappointed for the price we paid. I know there are not many rentals are available around this area, so the bar is low, but we have stayed in a number of cabins and this one needs work. Not to mention the fact we do not expect to do repairs on the property we rent.

Family Reunion
The place was perfect size and great location. We made beautiful memories. We even had a visitor from a wild turkey. The manager was super easy to work with. We are very familiar with the area since some of our family live in Rustic, Colorado. The house itself was clean but we were surprised to find the surrounding area heavily infested with bugs. Overall, the experience was just what we needed.

Great house & location - terrible host
This house is wonderful and the location is beautiful. The property owner / host however is rude, unhelpful, and conniving. Upon arrival there is only a single lockbox (real estate style). We were have trouble working the release mechanism on the lockbox (the reset code button was sticking way down in the inset hole and not releasing) - contacted the host for advice and he effectively told me “if you all are too dumb to work a lockbox nothing I can’t help you with”. Water pressure was extremely low making washing dishes or using the dishwasher nearly impossible. We called the host to tell him that and he indicated that this time of year the well water is low and nothing he can do about it. I told him it would make doing the dishes difficult- “oh I don’t care” was his response. We spent the last day of our vacation cleaning the house and heating up pots of water painstaking gathered slowly from the trickle of water on the stove so we could clean the dishes. The owner then had the audacity to charge and additional cleaning fee after - and I’m telling you this house was not messy or dirty. Reading reviews (which unfortunately I didn’t before hand ) - that is exactly this owners MO. We will be fighting the additional charge to the end of our days and I hope future guests read these reviews.

Hidden gem in the woods
Pros: -beautiful woodsy cabin -comfortable, spacious for family -well stocked kitchen, supplies (towels, etc..) -affordable for family -host was nice and always answered my questions Cons: -more instructions for TVs/appliances(dishwasher) -maybe more curtains, screens? -grill didn’t work -water pressure not good but maybe is just due to area

beautiful property perfect for large groups,only complaint I have is not as close to Creek as we had liked but that ended up being a good thing as they had a bad mud slides other side off Creek ,also no working grill to cook out there than that we enjoyed our stay thanks .

Nice Cabin
The cabin is awesome but the water pressure was very low. We found ourselves rotating showers so that we didn’t run out of water. And the location is very remote. The grocery store was 30 minutes away, only 1 restaurant nearby and 1 restaurant 25 minutes away and the nearest skiing was 2.5 hours away. So nothing much for the kids to do. And the roads are extremely windy and wrap around the mountains! Very scary for us coming from Florida! If you’re looking for a nice tucked away vacation for just hanging outdoors then this is an awesome place!!! Overall it was a great true log cabin experience and would have been better without spoiled kids complaining they are bored.

Rustic has been on a 3+ weeks mandatory evacuation. A week before our trip I reached out asking for a refund explaining that we would absolutely use this cabin in the future to visit our family when it’s safer for us and our young children. But I also told Dan that we would greatly appreciate the money we spent so that we could still have a family vacation that we had been planning for the months before. We heard nothing for the next week until the day before our trip when he said he got to the cabin with no troubles and there was no smoke. Complete lie. We found out through 3 sources (online, glen echo, and family that lives in rustic) that they were still under mandatory evacuation and smoke conditions were not safe. Dan explained that there is a road block but you can still get to the cabin if you simply tell them that’s where you’re going. He was telling us that we have no reason to not go. This is after I had told him we have young children by the way. I also tried asking him why there was a review praising him for a refund the month before (when fires were not nearly as bad as now) and why we are not being held to the same standard as this. No reply. We have also tried going through vrbo explaining the natural disaster and disregard for our money but no help there as well. So here we are after a week of staying home with no vacation and out a great deal of money. It’s very unfortunate because the property looks great but I would never stay here after the way Dan has treated us. I would highly consider this when booking especially in the dry season. Keep in mind that you not only will not get money back but you’ll also be urged to go ahead and make the drive putting yourself and family in danger. You’ll be lied to and told there’s no issues or smoke and unless you look into other sources, you would end up driving up to a roadblock in a smoky canyon after your long trip there. These property owners have no regard for their guest’s safety. They will show no kindness when it comes down to that vs making an unearned dollar.

Rustic and Charming
My husband and I felt incredibly blessed when this property appeared open the day before we wanted to travel. Apparently a week prior our visit the location had been shut down due to a fire in the area but opened back up just in time for our trip. That being said, we had not been there 24 hours when we received word of another mandatory evacuation due to the fires. We were booked for 3 days but due to the fires we only got to enjoy 1 day there. Policy for this VRBO is no refunds so we were out a lot of money and had to pay for a hotel before getting back home. This place is great. We would definitely go back. There are lots of separate living spaces to really spread out if you have a large group, as well as 3 patio type spaces on all sides of the cabin. This cabin is about an hour from Ft. Collins. We had the opportunity while we were there to meet the neighbor, Curtis. Great guy. We also ate at the restaurant down the road and met those owners as well. Fantastic food and fantastic people. If you are looking for a nice getaway this is a great place. Be sure to read the fine print and check weather conditions and fire conditions prior to booking or you may be out a lot of money like we were.

Very accomodating
We had a great trip planned but then were unable to go to the cabin because of a forest fire and the town was being evacuated. We never got to the cabin so my ratings above are not based on my actual experience there. We found other accomodations in Fort Collins and contacted Dan and Belinda. They were very understanding and we received a refund since we didn't stay there. We hope to rent their cabin again in the future when there are no fires!
