This place was very convenient. It had a restaurant on top. And a decent size convenient store on the bottom floor. Speaking of the store, you can find most of the souvenirs that you will probably have in mind. I was told that store in particular ships their items to other tourist locations. The rooms were nice and they were modern. The bathroom was clean, modern, and had a good shower. The people were very friendly. They all greeted me with a smile first than words second.
The things I did not like were the construction going on around the building are specifically on the south side. The reason being is that they are adding more to the hotel. I understand that, but I did not know that before checking in. Also one of my towels, face towel that is, was dirty as in had black streaks on it.
Other than those few things for the location and price, I thought Golden Bay was pretty good. If for any particular reason, I had to return to Belize city I would choose this hotel. The area is safe for the most part. In the daytime, I walked a little way And checked out the museum of Belize, which was right by it. And a little further down was the water taxi.
