Wake up to magnificent ocean views from this first floor villa. Enjoy your morning coffee on your deck and in the evening watch the sun rise. There are only dunes between this villa and the beach. Step off your deck and take a short stroll across the boardwalk and you are on the beach. If you feel like 'it's a pool day', the community pool is just one minute away from this villa. Being an end unit, you only have shared walls on one side of this villa. The view from the deck is breathtaking.
Harbor Island is a two and a half square mile residential community in the South Carolina’s Lowcountry (near Hilton Head, Savannah, and Charleston) It is a community located on an island blessed with great natural beauty. Ours is the only beach community in South Carolina where as soon as you walk out your door and you are in the midst of a natural setting.
As the gateway to the Beaufort Barrier Islands Important Bird Area, during the course of a year you may find over 200 species of birds. Five fresh water lagoons provide nesting areas for thousands of wading birds and our sandbars host nests for several threatened species.
In spring and fall our island is a staging area for thousands of birds gathering for their migratory flights. From April to June thousands of Horseshoe crabs come ashore to lay their eggs at high tide under a full moon. These eggs provide much needed food for birds during spring migration. From May to September our beach is a nesting site for endangered Loggerhead turtles.
While Harbor Island is a prime spot for nature lovers, our 2-½ miles of pristine beach and our swimming pools, tennis, basketball and volleyball courts offer opportunities for traditional activities. Water sports of all kinds are available. Fishing off the beach and crabbing in our tidal creeks or from the crabbing dock are very popular.
Nearby restaurants prepare local seafood fresh from the boats you see in Saint Helena Sound off our beach. Several local shops provide basic food items, rent kayaks, sell pizza and souvenirs. Harbor Island is located midway between the historic cities of Charleston and Savannah. We are 14 miles east of the picturesque coastal town of Beaufort.
