This was my second stay at the Hola. I still remember my first time there—it was amazing. Everything about the hotel felt wonderful: the location, the design, the atmosphere. I was happy, and we were happy.
Yesterday, I returned, but this time without my loved one—he sadly passed away. I wanted to come back, even just for one night, to relive those memories. The hotel itself hasn’t changed, but the experience felt different. At check-in, there was no warm welcome. The front desk staff didn’t greet me as they should have; in fact, no one even acknowledged me until I walked up and said I was there to check in.
The room was still nice, but I noticed things I hadn’t before. With the wooden flooring, I could hear people dragging chairs, doors opening and closing. Maybe it was just the location of my room, but the noise was constant, and I couldn’t fall asleep until past midnight.
Breakfast started at 7 a.m., but that was too late for me as I had to leave for the airport, so I missed it. Overall, this stay didn’t feel as special as my first one, which is a shame because I once loved this hotel so much.
