Spacious split level accommodation with an open plan kitchen/ dinning room. When we renovated it, we wanted to preserve as many original features as possible while creating cosy, homey and modern space. We understand that our guests like the country feel but at the same time they don't want to compromise on the familiar comforts and convenient solutions.
We filled up the kitchen with all you may need during your stay. We picked the furniture with comfort in mind. You won't need your towels and the bed linen will make you want to stay in bed for the whole day. If you insist on ruining your holiday by washing, cleaning and ironing we provide all the necessary equipment. You can stay in touch with the world thanks to a good wifi connection and UK/French TV. We know that as a family you may want to spend the time together but you may also want to escape and have a me time. That's why both bedrooms are upstairs and the living/ dinning are downstairs. If you want to escape even further there is an outdoor seating area designated only for your use. Please note this Gîte is for two adults only we do not accept guests below the age of 18.
If relaxing and watching the sunsets with a glass of wine it's not your thing there is plenty to do around us: canoeing, hot air ballooning, sightseeing, wine tasting, night Markets in the Summer, Vineyard visits, the list is endless!! Several Villages around us are classed among the most beautiful villages in France. Such as Belves ;Monpazier ;Limeuil or even Cadouin which boast an Abby listed as a UNESCO heritage site.
We are conveniently located 25 min from the airport and Bergerac's Medieval Centre. Should you like to visit the very pretty town of Sarlat we are just under an hour along the Route de Frois Gras. We encourage stopping on the way to explore beautiful villages of Baynac, La Roque or Domme.
Gites, sunbathing, swimming, relaxing... I'm bored now where can I go what's here to see?
You could quite easily spend the holiday sampling the local cuisine following the duck and the wine route or the colorful markets. There is plenty to choose from but if you are like us, having itchy feet on what was supposed to be a lazy holiday, then I have a great news - we are in the perfect spot to see and experience this beautiful region.
Let's see the spectacular grottoes, visit a châteaux this area is famous for, living history theme park, what about a Gothic cathedral or those 17th century gardens near Limeuil.
See the Dordogne from the river while kayaking, canoeing, gorge walking or on the boat trip. What about a view from the hot air balloon or if you are not a big fun of the heights, from the horseback.
For those more active take the rucksack, pack your lunch and discover the picturesque villages on foot or on the bike. Climb the rocks or take part in high ropes course at the stunning Chateau du Val with a zip wire over the lake.
And in the evening if you still have some energy left you must go dancing at the local music festival in the village down the road.
