The Contented Tuscan is a very ancient stone villa on two levels brimming with character and restored with total respect for its rustic simplicity. All rooms are furnished to excellent standards, in an elegant country style with old terracotta floors and original chestnut beamed ceilings. There is a fully equipped kitchen with a beautiful fireplace, log burning stove and dining/sitting room. This two-bedroom villa sleeps up to four people. The bedrooms each with queen sized beds and both have en-suite bathrooms. Both bedrooms are prepared with a double bed, but one bedroom can also be set up with two separate beds upon request prior to your arrival.
The gardens and plunge pool are for the exclusive use of the guests, in a private, enclosed terrace we a have a pergola providing a shady space to eat. What better place to relax with a glass of beer or wine and take in the stunning views after your day of sightseeing!
The villa is located in Guzzano a mountain village 4km above the pretty spa town of Bagni di Lucca. Many of the famous Tuscan landmarks are within striking distance. Previous guests have enjoyed day trips to Pisa, Lucca, Florence, Cinque Terra, Viareggio, Siena and San Gimignano.
The property is located in a mountainous region of Tuscany. Our guests can park directly outside the villa or in an area some 50 meters from the house and should not pose any issues. The owners live below the rental space and will be on call should you need any assistance.
The surrounding area is perfect if you are a keen walker or mountain biker. You can enjoy bird watching, fishing, painting and photography, as well as skiing and snowboarding. We are the first village above the town, walking down will take around 30-40 minutes and you can always hop on the local bus to return to the village.
Bagni di Lucca has a number of super restaurants, serving hearty Tuscan fare. You can also enjoy a post supper flutter at the recently re-opened casino.
You'll find a public swimming pool, tennis courts and thermal baths, along with banks; supermarkets and on Wednesday and Saturday mornings there is a traditional Tuscan market.
