The house of your dreams has a name and is Casa De Miguel! This dog-friendly, beautifully-designed and appointed Texas retreat offers nothing but 1,900 square feet of fabulous living space. Casa De Miguel offers its lucky guests a memorable place to relax after a fun-filled day in the city. Inside, you'll find an inviting and spacious living area equipped with comfortable sofas strategically placed around the wall-mounted flatscreen TV, creating the perfect spot for movie nights! The kitchen is simply out of this world; it boasts stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and a bar seating between the kitchen and the living space for even more togetherness. Outside, the family dog will have plenty of space to run around and exercise. There is a screened-in porch, as well as various courtyards and sitting areas for outdoor socializing when the weather is nice. 

What's nearby:
This stunning, single-story lodging is conveniently close to the heart of south-central Austin, and only two miles away from Congress Avenue Historic District. You'll also be quite close to bus stops, in case you don't feel like driving and would like to experience everything around you on foot. Nearby restaurants of note include Thai Fresh, Lenoir, Bouldin Creek Cafe (for all the vegetarians and vegans), Elizabeth Street Cafe, Sway, of course, all the attractions on South Congress Ave. The famous Museum of the Weird is two and a half miles away. It features an array of curios and oddities, from Bigfoot to shrunken heads, plus a gift shop, perfect for souvenirs!

Wonderful House, love all art work, decor fit the style of house. Love various seating areas.
Property floor plan was great. Location was perfect for any events downtown, Lady Bird Lake, Lake Austin and Lake Travis. Grass needs mowing after rain the mosquitoes came out. Good thing we had screened porch. Could use out door seating area because of mosquitoes.

I cannot recommend this property.
The house is beautifully decorated and furnished, and is in a great location. That being said, there were definitely some serious issues here. First, the pictures of the yard were somewhat misleading. There was no grass at all so we had to walk our dog in the neighborhood each time he had to go out. The more serious issue was that we immediately noticed a terrible odor in one of the bedrooms and adjacent bathroom. This issue was clearly already known to management because there were several odor eliminator cannisters in the bedroom and bathroom. Because of the odor, one of our guests was unable to stay at the property with us as that bedroom/bathroom were completely unusable. The property management company (Vacasa) was contacted multiple times about this issue. Their solutions included providing some air freshener spray or moving us to another property which was smaller and had stairs (not possible for us due to mobility issues). They did not come to the property to assess the problem or even offer to do so. I would normally overlook small problems and give a positive review. However, because of these issues and their impact on our plans, and the lack of an acceptable response from the management company, I cannot recommend this property. I also will not stay at another property that is managed by Vacasa.

The house is overall very nice, but one of the en-suite bathrooms had a strong unpleasant musty/mildewy smell and we couldn’t use it. We kept the door closed and ran the bathroom fan the entire time. The adjoining bedroom also had an unpleasant smell that seeped over from the smelly en-suite bathroom. I let the property manager know twice while we were there for a week, and they said they would send someone over. But no one ever came.

Absolutely perfect!
For exceeded our expectations. There is actually a two car garage with parking for two vehicles plus parking for two vehicles in the driveway, plus easy parking on the street. Everything exceeded what was listed. And, the physical layout of the house is incredible. The design allows for separation for those who want to stay up later and not disturb those going to sleep early. We were pleased well in excess of our expectations. Five stars all around.

Wonderful house for a large group in a fantastic area
We had a group of eight stay in this property for the weekend and it was everything we could have hoped for. There was lots of communal space both inside and on the front patio and the plentiful beds and bathrooms made the stay very comfortable. The house is in a wonderful area with access to restaurants (I highly recommend El Primo for your breakfast taco needs), coffee and other amenities all within a short walk. Would definitely stay again!

Nice house, but not as advertised and horrendous customer service
We stayed at this property over the last weekend, and, unfortunately, the property was not as listed on the VRBO site. The beds were listed as double beds in 2 rooms and 1 king bed in the master. We showed up to 2 twin beds in one room and 2 double beds in one room and a king in the master - this did not match our needs with a house full of only adults. Additionally, the internet does not work, none of the TVs are connected to anything, so you can't watch anything on them (and without a working internet, there was no way to stream anything from our devices onto them). When we notified vacasa customer service, quite frankly, we got the run around. They didn't know what was listed on VRBO about the bed and room layout and never even tried to address the internet issues. We had to send them screenshots of the incorrect listing along with pictures of the rooms as they were, and we, to this day, have not received a response that addresses the issues. My take is that vacasa is a company with many properties they cannot adequately manage and support from a customer service perspective - from our experience, you should not a) expect their listings to be correct regarding the amenities, rooms, and beds and b) expect any sort of support should something not be correct or working right - it was a horrendous experience. In the future, we will avoid any properties owned/managed by vacasa.

TERRIBLE COMPANY TO BOOK WITH
Unfortunately, the same week that we were supposed to stay at this property we had a death in the family. On the day it happened, I reached out to the host to let them know we had a funeral to plan and could no longer stay at the location over the weekend, and if there was any way to get some type of refund (I even asked for a cleaning fee refund if they were unwilling to refund a portion of the trip). Instead of expressing any type of condolences or human decency they responded the way I’m sure any type of money hungry organization would have and kept quoting policy. Their inability to be flexible in ANY capacity (I didn’t even stay at the location- there was absolutely nothing to clean and no need for a cleaning fee?) would have me weary to stay at this property if I were you. They will quote policy after policy to you and leave you thinking you are speaking to a robot and no actual people. What a terrible experience this was.

Excellent ATX girls getaway!
This house was exactly as described in the listing. It was very clean and well-stocked and the location was ideal for a girl's getaway weekend. We had 7 of us and there was plenty of comfortable seating in the living area. The beds were very comfortable as well. It would be great if a full-length mirror was added somewhere in the property. There also was not ample toilet paper for the 3 days we were there, so plan to bring your own. I would definitely stay here again!

Great house in great neighborhood!
The house was awesome but getting into the front door took 20 minutes. The instructions were poor & incorrect. The only way to notify someone was through a 1-800 # & sit on hold. Therefore, communication with property mgr. gets zero stars. This should really be remedied in my opinion. I wiukd totally stay there again if I knew I could get in contact with someone if needed & not have to wait on hold for 20 minutes.

Great Stay
My sisters and I greatly enjoyed our stay. As 5 women traveling together we felt very safe in this area. The house is a short walk to some cute coffee shops and restaurants. The house is managed by a management company called Vacasa so if you need to communicate it will not be with one single individual, but they were very responsive and helpful. The house was clean and well equipped with all essentials.

Perfect Place & Would Stay Again
My friends and I have been doing girls trips for 30 years and wanted a place we could stay together. The house was perfect for six and had great spaces to hang out. It was about a 7 minutes drive to downtown and convenient to everywhere we wanted to go. We did not rent a car and took an Uber to get around. The house looked and was decorated like the pictures on VRBO.

The facility was sufficient for our needs. We enjoyed the spacious rooms and decor. Our only problem was the Entry Code was cancelled on our second day and of course the coldest night of the visit without notice. We were locked out and it took awhile for us to get someone on the 800 number to assist us. They informed us that the code was cancelled and a new one was assigned, but we were not notified.

Location and Comfort
Great location, a mile from everything we wanted to do. Kitchen is for people who love to cook, living room is very conducive for lounging. Bedrooms and baths provide privacy and comfort. Exterior needs some TLC, gas grill was inoperative. Overall our family of 8 were very comfortable and we loved the place. Plenty of room to hang out and the table was big enough to accommodate all of us. We would definitely stay there again.

Austin Retreat
This house and location were perfect for 3 colleagues having a staff retreat. We each had our own spaces - bedrooms AND each had our own bathroom - which was so nice after a long day of working. The neighborhood is very walkable and we enjoyed the comfortable air conditioning after long walks in the heat. There was plenty of common space for our work sessions and the kitchen had everything we needed. My only complaint is the communication with Vacasa, which manages this property. I reached out 5 times with questions and did not once receive a response. But I did receive lots of survey links and automated messages that did nothing to answer my direct questions. There was not a phone number listed on either VRBO or Vacasa apps so I’m glad everything went smoothly as I have no idea how we would have gotten a hold of someone in any kind of emergency or if we had an issue with an appliance not working, etc…

Comfortable home, responsive management
This three-bedroom, five-bed, three-bathroom home worked perfectly for our family of four. The location is very convenient to downtown, South Congress, South Lamar, Zilker, and other Austin attractions; easy Uber or bike rides if you don’t have a car. Like much of Austin, this area is undergoing a good bit of demolition of cute, cottage-style homes to put in modern mega homes, squeezing as much onto the lot as possible, so construction noise is unavoidable, though it never bothered us during “quiet hours.” The day we arrived was Austin’s record-breaking drop in high temperatures from 85 down to 32. The heat for two of the bedrooms didn’t work, so we had a cold first night but Shelley responded quickly and had it fixed by early the next afternoon. The property is dog friendly and has a cute little fenced in area, but be advised small dogs might squeeze under the fence (like our 14-lb boy tried to do! 😂). Those are seriously the only complaints, and even knowing that, I would stay at this home again. The beds are comfortable; the living room and dining area are both cozy and plenty big enough; and getting to bring the old man dog to pup-friendly Austin was fabulous. Quick plug for nearby Teal House Coffee & Bakery — amazing people and excellent baked goods and beverages.

Awesome stay. Great location.
Great house for a group of friends. The owner was very responsive and accommodating. Great location. Can walk to a lot of great restaurants and coffee shops. House is great and has a two car garage that you can use, which was very nice since we were there during a winter storm.
