The Shire House - 1,000 sq. ft. Retreat

The vibrant, newly constructed Shire House is a clean, bright, and welcoming 2-bedroom, 1.5-bathroom hideaway, perfect for families or small groups. It features a queen bed, bunk bed, and twin bed for optimal comfort. The spacious kitchen is fully equipped with high-end appliances, cookware, and dishes, plus we provide six fresh eggs from our chickens to kickstart your stay. Thoughtful cabinetry and ample storage blend modern style with functionality, while the open layout promotes interaction and a relaxed, energized atmosphere.

For dining, there's a four-seat round dining table, plus three barstools at the kitchen counter.

The living room opens to a spacious, covered rear deck with four hanging egg chairs and additional seating, all overlooking a peaceful wooded sanctuary. This tranquil space invites relaxation, where you can listen to birds sing and watch deer wander through the trees. Step into the woods and wonder down the walking trail, leading to a wide-open dog park for your furry friend to enjoy. Surrounded by nature, this serene retreat offers a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle, providing safety and peace for both you and your canine companion.

The main bathroom features a shower/tub combo, and we provide ample towels, along with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash for your convenience.

Guest Access

Swan Lake Resort spans 160 acres and features a 30-acre fishing lake. While it’s a housing community, not a cabin in the woods, it offers plenty of natural beauty and amenities. Enjoy cleared walking trails, a great picnic area near the dam, and the calming sounds of nature that will melt away your stress. The walking trails loop back to a charming, covered bridge.

For fitness enthusiasts, we have a state-of-the-art gym, open from 5 AM to 10 PM. Access to the gym is included with your stay, and an access code will be provided.

Planning an event? Consider renting our lakefront hall, which seats up to 100 guests and includes a caterer's kitchen.

We also offer a variety of spa treatments (available for an additional fee and by appointment), such as facials, massages, and Reiki available in the spa area and in your cabin.

Additionally, we provide complimentary bikes, kayaks, and pedal boats for your enjoyment.

Our lake is abundant with wildlife, including bass, pickerel (for fishing), and many species of birds, including eagles. You’ll also spot turtles, deer, chipmunks, squirrels, rabbits, and plenty of birds—especially around the lake. We have fishing piers equipped with electricity, so you can relax and enjoy the scenery or catch a fish or two.

Other Things to Note
Maintaining a peaceful, quiet atmosphere for our guests is very important to us. To ensure that, we limit the number of guests in the home to 8 at any time (both inside and outside). We do not allow large gatherings or parties at the cabin.
