Laurel Bridge Smyrna is a quaint suburb of Atlanta, with a population of 55,976. Smyrna is in Cobb County and is one of the most dependable places to live in Georgia. Living in Smyrna offers residents a dense suburban feel. There are a lot of restaurants, coffee shops, and parks; so plenty to do for families and young professionals.
Some great sites to see are the following:
Concord Covered Bridge
The covered bridge is used by many who live in the area in their daily travel. The bridge is located close to the Silver comet trail, which is excellent for walking, running, or biking.
Silver Comet Trail
The Silver Comet Trail is an excellent surfaced trail that goes all the way to Alabama and beyond. It is almost flat all the way through, and nice and wide and shady for significant stretches. It is beautiful and wide with a median stripe with lots of cyclists, runners, and walkers who commute both ways. There are water points along the way and an abundance of benches to rest on. It is very safe too! The best time to go is early in summer. It's free of charge, and travels west through Cobb, Paulding, and Polk counties. This quiet, non-motorized, paved trail is for walkers, hikers, bicyclists, rollerbladers, horses, dog walkers, and is wheelchair accessible.
The Silver Comet Trail is 61.5 miles long, and starts at the Mavell Road Trailhead in Smyrna, Georgia. So it's a great place to start if you are staying with us. It ends at the Georgia/Alabama state line, near Cedartown and The Esom Hill Trailhead.
Market Village in the city center often has open-air concerts and festivals. There are also various small parks such as Cobb Park, public pools such as Aline Wolfe Center for the elderly and Tolleson park pool for all ages, tennis courts and playgrounds, and a linear park with a walking trail along Spring Road.
Several major roadways, such as I-285, Cobb Parkway (U.S. Route 41), Atlanta Road (Old State Route 3), and South Cobb Drive (State Route 280), pass through the municipality.
Smyrna is served by Cobb Community Transit and Marta public buses.
