Nice spot outside of Asheville
Overall we (family of four + a dog) had a good stay here. The owner met us when we arrived and she was very nice. The location is great; close to a couple of good breweries and good food and a pretty easy drive into Asheville. Also 15-30 minutes to decent trails and waterfalls. The fenced in yard was great for the pup and the space is comfortable enough. The only thing we really didn't like was that we know someone was in the apartment while we were gone; a sweatshirt was left on the couch and the tv was on a different channel than when we left. No concerns beyond that, but that made us a bit uncomfortable.

Garden Getaway
Stayed for 3 nights to check out State parks in the area. Visited Table Rock, DuPont, and Chimney Rock. All were beautiful and had great trails to hike with our Labradoodle. The apartment was a great location and very quiet. The yard was like a giant garden (even in February) and totally fenced in, making it perfect for our dog. We enjoyed the hot tub each evening after a day of hiking. The apartment itself was very comfortable and met all our needs.

We keep coming back
Kathy continues to deliver on cleanliness and ease of stay! We’ve stayed at this location multiple times now. You can go anywhere or do anything from here. I don’t know what brings us back the most: awesome property owner, the location, the fire pit, the hot-tub, the awesome king bed (so comfortable!), the fact that we can bring our Boykin spaniel, or the Amazing Pizza Company (yes, it’s actually called that!) and brewing companies just down the road (literally). This is our home away from home in Mills River. Period.

Very easy to access and extremely comfortable!
We visited family in the area. Great location, beautifully furnished and super easy to access, no steps! We will be staying again, Kathy is a lovely hostess. The apartment and fenced in yard are spacious and made for families snd their fur babies. Thank you, Kathy. Wevare looking forward to staying with you again, very soon.

Long weekend with pooch
Very comfy- especially whilst traveling with the dog. The bed in the bedroom we used was very comfortable (back bedroom with 2 windows). The kitchen well equipped and bathroom nice sized. It was lovely to have yard access and was very quiet and easy to get to.

Nice Place In Mills River.
When we arrived Kathy was vey nice & greeted us on our Arrival. The house was Overall very nice. There were 3 Poodles that barked in the Early Morning when are dogs were Playing outside. You will very enjoy your stay in Mills River & the kindness of The Host if you stay at this Property.

We wanted to explore Asheville and Hendersonville while having plenty of room for our family of 5 and found Kathy's property in Mills River. It has ease of access to the main roads. Our 2 year old toddler with motor skill delays and sensory issues was happy playing inside and outside the property as it is very spacious. The main room had lots of space for her travel bed and our older boys each had their own room. The decor is classical and gives a cozy feeling with solid wood furniture throughout. The bathroom has a large shower with a seat. Kathy provided towels, toilet paper, hair products, hair dryer... The kitchen is nice and open with modern appliances, a very large sink and anything you might need if cooking for your family. It is a basement property with french doors looking out to Kathy's beautifully maintained garden! Remember you are in the mountains and you will encounter some spiders, ants, mosquitoes... A filter machine is set up inside and you have AC/heat for any type of weather change. There are dogs on the property that are separated by a fence, and are always happy to greet people. Kathy was available in person and by text always happy to give recommendations of places to explore. There is a Bold Rock Cidery 3 minutes away with excellent food. The grocery store is also very close as well as a very large playground surrounded by farmland for amazing sunsets. The street is quiet and walkable. Kathy has great parking right on the property.

Girls weekend part 2
This was the second time our girl group stayed at Ms Kathy’s place in Mills River! We LOVE THIS PLACE!!! Fire pit at night. Clean. User friendly entry/exit. She has the most comfortable KING BED EVER! She even brought down an ironing board (she doesn’t iron though😉). But we love staying here and already booked our Spring trip!

A wonderful stay. Perfect for our dog, too!
We came for vacation and also to visit my son nearby in college. It was a perfect place for bringing out dog! Mills River is a great location to visit Hendersonville, Asheville, and the surrounding areas for hiking, shopping and eating out. Two breweries are in walking distance: the Mills River Brewing Company has great food & beer, offers live music, and is very dog friendly. The apartment was clean and comfortable. Kathy was a welcoming host and helpful when we needed. * My only caveat is that I had searched for "whole house" when looking for a place. It was only later that I fully realized that this rental was a self-contained lower level apartment of the home of the owner. It worked out okay. Second, the house is located in a neighborhood surrounded by busy state highways. In order to take long walks, we had to get in the car and drive. Again, something I didn't investigate more deeply on a map. I would absolutely stay there again and recommend to others.

A Perfect Place — especially if you have dogs!
The location is FABULOUS! So easy to get to Asheville, Hendersonville, and Flat Rock for breweries, shops, restaurants, etc. The back yard is VERY secure for your dogs and it’s beautiful and private. We lit the fire pit several nights and had wonderful conversations. Highly recommend. 5 stars to the host!!

Just the right place for us and our dog. Location was great as our first time to the area as we were within 30-40 minutes of anywhere… Asheville, Black Mountain, Hendersonville, Lake Lure, etc.
