Roads in Black Mountain are clear and open.
The Downtown area of Black Mountain is open for business! Black Mountain downtown infrastructure having remained largely untouched by the storm. Black Mountains Downtown shops, restaurants, galleries, artist studios and restaurants are open!
Downtown Asheville is open and ready for business. South Asheville and the Asheville Regional Airport are open. Biltmore Estate has reopened and is welcoming guests for a holiday season
Blue Ridge Parkway in Asheville, North Carolina is open, including the Asheville corridor:
• Asheville corridor
The 11-mile stretch of the parkway from milepost 382.5 to milepost 393.6 reopened on November 6, 2024. This includes the French Broad Overlook at milepost 393.8. The Asheville Visitor Center at milepost 384 is also open daily from 9 AM to 4:30 PM.
• Trails
Trails in the Asheville section of the parkway are open. Large swaths of Bent Creek have reopened for hiking and biking, including the popular Explorer Loop and Hard Times Connector Trail
• I-40 is closed near the NC/TN border. Alternate routes add 40–75 minutes’ drive time.
• I-26 is one lane near the NC/TN border near Erwin, TN. Please plan for minor delays.

The Big Oak cabin is a NEWLY built custom log home located on a LARGE (1 acre corner lot) off a level residential paved road in Black Mountain. This property is conveniently located to Downtown Black Mountain (1 mile) and Asheville (15 miles).

The Big Oak Cabin offers beautiful indoor and outdoor areas to relax and entertain, including a spacious back deck, ample covered front porch, and a large back yard fire-pit (firewood provided!)

The home features spacious rooms, open floor plan, exposed beam construction, cathedral ceilings, large picture windows, central air, . Enjoy Wi-Fi & Satellite, with Smart TV's in the living room and all bedrooms.
The Big Oak Cabin comes stocked to meet all your basic needs! Linens, extra pillows, toiletries, basic household items, firewood provided for the outdoor fire pit and COFFEE included (We provide coffee pods for the Keurig, a standard coffee maker also present). We aim to provide travelers with a turnkey stay. Guest provide their own meals and leave the rest to us.

Beds sleep 6 people comfortably. Linens provided. Brand new stove, washer and dryer. Fully stocked kitchen including coffee maker, Keurig, blender and dishes/ utensils needed for cooking and baking. Service for 8.
