About this space
Nestled in the heart of Stanislaus National Forest, Basecamp Arnold is the idyllic wilderness retreat you have dreamed of. Fully remodeled with comfort and style in mind, the spacious retreat comfortably accommodates 12 guests over 2000 sq ft across three floors. The spacious outdoor decks add even more entertaining space. Escape from the daily grind and retreat to this peaceful place.

The space
Entering the home, you will be greeted by a spacious main level with windows that showcase the natural beauty that surrounds you. 2022 renovated modern mountain house with two level deck, outdoor fire pit and heater. 3 flat screen TVs with streaming access to Roku, Netflix, Hulu and Disney Plus. We also have a new Pit boss smoker& BBQ!

MAIN LEVEL
- Our open concept main living space includes a updated kitchen with quartz countertops, stainless steel sink, microwave, and gas range. Fully stocked kitchen with everything you will need to prepare meals. Our dining table that sits 8 with 4 additional bar stools and 1 highchair. We have children's plates, bowls and utensils available.
- Bedroom #1 King mattress
- Bedroom #2 Queen mattress
-Full size newly renovated bathroom on the main level with bathtub. All bedrooms have ceiling fans and extra blankets. All bedrooms include lamp nightstand cell phone charging ports.


LOFT
-Our spacious loft with high chalet ceilings sleeping 8 including 3 queen beds, and 2 memory foam twin beds **children’s play area with TV, toy and coloring books** & renovated bathroom and ceiling fans. Hanging nest chair for reading or admiring the views.

REC ROOM
-Our closed off staircase going down to the rec room will allow for any late night game play or movie watching without disturbing the upstairs sleepers. The large couch also opens up into a pullout to sleep additional guests. Central AC/heating throughout.

OUTDOOR SPACE
-We have a large slightly down slopped driveway makes for easy access during all seasons and easily fits up to four average size vehicles or three oversized vehicles. In the winter months if it is snowing you will be required to park in the driveway and not the road. Guests must be able to walk up down 1 step to access the front door.
-We have 2 spacious decks with access off both the main level and rec room. Both areas have plenty of seating, a firepit, and and new smoker/BBQ grill.
-EV charger available on site
-We have beach towels & 2 Stand up Paddle boards for lake use during the months of May-Sept when lake is open. We also have snow sleds for the winter fun.
- Our property is down slopped and makes for some great sledding and our deck stairs make for easy access for climbing back up.
Guest access
The summer months, Memorial through Labor day, guests can enjoy the Blue Lake Springs private lakes and Rec center with pool (fees apply). There is a daily fee of $20/per person for use of lakes and pool. Fly in Acres lake has a large sandy beach with three floating docks to play on. The lake is a short walk from the cabin. We have 2 inflatable SUP boards available to our guests during these months. An amazing way to spend your days under the trees!

For Lake and Rec center access to guests, we have a guest card that is provided. This must be returned at the end of your stay or $50 replacement fee will apply.

Please follow HOA rules while at the lake. No pets or glass allowed.

Owners closets are locked for safekeeping.
Other things to note
Two shovels for the property, one by the front door and one by the back door. You will be required to shovel the entrance during a snowstorm. We will plow the driveway and shovel the deck to the front door when there is 3 inches of snow after storms pass.

MAX of 10 guests- infants are not included in guest count.

All pets must be disclosed at time of reservation including ESA animals. Max number of dogs is 2. Pet fees apply. If more than 2 pets are brought on property-you will be asked to remove the animal or vacate the premises without a refund.

Exterior security cameras are present on property. 24/7 monitoring is in place, so please check your guest count at the time of your reservation.

We do not provide: firewood or Landline phone. Wood burning fireplace is only allowed during power outages.

Please note that Check out/in is not accepted on Thanksgiving day, Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.

Basecamp is located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada and thus is subject to severe weather and resulting limitations. Because of our 4000’ elevation, even with snowfall, access to our cabin is possible with highway 4 being rarely closed before the Moran Road entrance. However, with severe winter weather, road restrictions do occur. Also note, that PGE new measures to protect against wildfires by shutting off power grids do occur. Power outages also are a factor from other winter storm warnings. Please consider these conditions when choosing your get-a-way location.

Refunds will not be made for circumstances beyond our control, such as weather conditions and acts of nature. However, we will do our best to be accommodating.

We have a firm cancellation policy and encourage all guests to purchase travel insurance along with your reservation. By booking with us, you agree that you have read and agreed to the terms of our listing.

Darling cabin

This is an updated cabin, that is decorated so lovely!! Super clean, tri-level cabin where you could tell the host wants guests to feel comfortable and luxurious at the same time. Family and dog friendly too, it was the best!!!

Awesome stay!

We had a wonderful time at Basecamp. The house was very clean, and had all of the creature comforts one would need. We were thankful to have the AC for the hot days, and the fire pit and BBQ at night. We really enjoyed the home and the upgrades throughout. The house had some condiments and cooking spices in the kitchen and plenty of pots and pans. I appreciated the attention to detail with having a drawer full of flashlights and a first aid kit (thank you!). We felt really comfortable there and the kids loved all the beds on the 3rd level, and all the kid toys and games down in the basement. The house was also easy for our grandmother to get from the car to the main level and stay in one of the baths and guest rooms. The owner was easy to talk to and quick to respond. We took the SUPs out on the lake 2 days in a row and had a blast. The house is within the Blue Lake Springs area but not within walking distance to the pool. It was great to have the pool for the 4th of July because they had so many things to do from swimming, tennis, the lake, bouncy inflatable water slides and more. We enjoyed this trip and the house so we will be back.

Nice cabin near Big Trees State Park in Arnold

The Basecamp Arnold was exactly what we were looking for, clean, spacious and close to town to get all the necessities. Our host (Madeline) is very responsive and communicated everything ahead of time, though the direct msging system via VRBO was a bit delayed, we were able to get around by direct msging instead. The cabin is tastefully designed, great for small families and young children. I loved how they have a swinging chair installed in the attic with children play area to keep the kids busy. I also love the built in charging cables next to each bed in the attic for the easy of recharge your devices. Another plus is the built in EV charger made it easy for us electric vehicle owners. I would love to return and stay at this cabin again next time we go to Arnold~
