Rocky Mountains surround you in this beautiful 2-bedroom 1-bath cabin. Its off grid, but with modern amenities. The property borders the Cumbres & Toltec Railway with a front porch view of the train during train season! Its a short walk to fishing and hiking in the Rio Grande National Forest. This four-season cabin can be especially enjoyable as a cozy retreat once snow flies and can be accessed by snowmobile, XC skis or snowshoes!
The cabin includes two bedrooms, one bathroom, one living/kitchen area, and two outdoor porches. Sleeps 4. Guests can use the inflatable queen-sized air mattress to sleep an additional 2. Snow sport enthusiasts will appreciate sturdy coat hooks, helmet hooks, and drying rack.
IMPORTANT: During the winter months, parking at the property is not available. Guests can access the cabin by snowshoes, XC skis, snowmobile, etc.
The cabin is in a remote area out of cell service. Guests may use the cabin Wi-Fi.
To our winter guests: be prepared to park in the public lot off the highway 500 yards from the cabin. Snowshoes/XC skis/snowmobiles are absolutely necessary for winter stays. We try to keep a plowed parking space directly at the cabin, however we don’t guarantee any specific timeframe for plowing. Guests are welcome to park at the cabin if plowed, but please don’t get snowed in! Good neighbor house rules: Pets must be approved and pet fee applies. All pet waste must be disposed of.
No smoking, vaping or e-cigarettes. No recreational marijuana use of any kind.
Quiet hours are 11 pm to 7 am.
Please don’t access the utility room (locked door) unless necessary.
Security cameras monitor the east porch, the driveway to the north, and the meadow to the south.
