Antique Log Cabin Near Charlottesville & Wineries/Sauna/Trout Stocking 10/28/24

Antique log cabin C. 1810, recently relocated and lovingly restored. We are approximately 20 miles from Charlottesville, local to numerous wineries, and 38 miles from Massanutten Ski Resort. Here you can enjoy a rustic getaway, with all of the modern features you need to be perfectly comfortable. You will find yourself surrounded by an abundance of wildlife: Deer, Turkey, Foxes, Eagles, Osprey, Herons and more (a bird-watcher’s paradise!). Look out the window and be met with top notch country views- 110 acres of rolling pastures, pristine ponds, and marked walking trails. If you plan to use the trails or ponds, let us know and we will be happy to give you a tour upon arrival! Our trout pond will be re-stocked mid-October, 2024 with approx. 800 lbs. of Rainbow trout, averaging between 2-3 lbs. Watch the video tour to see a clip of a past release! Many citation fish are caught from our ponds annually. A sportsman's delight!

While pets are generally discouraged, we are pet tolerant depending on the age, size and breed of the animal.

Absolutely Perfect!
We had an absolutely wonderful time staying at this cabin. It perfectly blends the charm of a rustic retreat with all the modern comforts, surrounded by breathtaking, postcard-worthy views. Although we initially planned to visit a nearby winery, we ultimately chose to stay and explore the scenic trails—and we’re so glad we did. Wik, the owner, is an exceptional host who made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. He was always available and quick to respond whenever we needed anything. We loved grilling by the pond, wandering the beautiful property, visiting the horses, and relaxing on the porch in the cozy rocking chairs. We spent our evenings reading by the fire in the stone fireplace and enjoying uninterrupted quality time together as a family. We can’t wait to return for another unforgettable stay!

Perfect home, perfect location and exceptional host!
We had an absolutely wonderful time at this beautiful cabin. Everything about our stay was superb! From the moment we arrived Wik was a very attentive host and took the time to give us a tour of the cabin, a Kubota tour of the trails and amazing history on the cabin!! The cabin was a combination of historic charm and modern animeties! The views of this secluded and private cabin were breathtaking. We enjoyed the views of the ponds, horses and wildlife! Can’t leave out enjoying a few beers with the host in world! Thank you Wik for making our girl weekend memorable! We can’t wait to come back!

A beautiful spot for a getaway
We had a great girls’ weekend at this beautiful cabin in Somerset, VA. It was the perfect retreat to relax and get away from the busyness of daily life. We took a drive into Gordonsville and visited Barboursville Vineyards as well. The cabin had the best of both worlds- an old feel with the reclaimed logs and all modern day amenities. The views from the porch cannot be beat. It was a great place to relax and unwind. Wik was a wonderful host too. Thanks again!

Wedding Weekend
Wik hosted our micro-wedding weekend event at his lovely horse farm and log home estate. The property is beautiful and serene and was the perfect spot for our intimate family retreat. The log home is immaculate and well appointed. We enjoyed fishing, yard games and relaxing on the porch, followed by s'mores on the bonfire by the pond. Can't say enough about how much we enjoyed it!

Quiet secluded cabin and property
Cabin is within an hour drive to almost any attractions you want to visit. It’s set up very well for guests. We did not need anything that was not supplied while on site. The basement floor is concrete and if you do not wear shoes inside might want to bring something to wear cause it can be cold. Wik, the on-site host, was fantastic and very accommodating and always available. There are trails on the site and when we stay again would spend more time on porch and property just relaxing. We feel this is one of the best VRBO’s we have ever stayed at. Lance and Shelly

Perfect Escape from the City
This stylishly appointed cabin has all of the modern amenities with the feel of an historic 1800s log cabin. Set on a working horse farm with over 100 acres and dotted with ponds, it was the perfect escape.

Super Cabin for Superbowl Weekend!!!
Our stay at this wonderful oasis was a trip to remember. The cabin was way more than we even imagined with the scenic views over the trout ponds and rolling hills. Horses Copper and Spatz were so nice to have as vacation pets right next to the cabin. The cabin was so nice and spacious giving us that feeling of home. We will be back and bring more family next time to enjoy what we had these 4 days. Wik was a great host. One of my favorite humans! Thanks for all the help and advice on all things... Mike and Sharon

Awesome stay
Couldn’t have been better. The property is gorgeous and having the ponds to fish was awesome. My husband and brother-in-law caught a lot of fish and had a great time. It was also really cool waking up every morning and seeing the horses that are on the property. So much wildlife and so quiet. Absolutely beautiful. Cabin was super clean and super spacious. The host couldn’t have been more accommodating. We would definitely go back. Don’t hesitate to stay here.

Romantic and Peaceful
Our stay has been nothing less than amazing. This cabin is so beautiful with all its charming details. The surroundings are breathtaking. The ponds, the friendly horses, and walking trails made it extra special. Wik is an excellent host and makes sure everything has been taking care of. The beds are super comfy, showers and sauna look new, and the overall rustic vibe makes you feel at home from the moment you walk through the door. We will definitely return one day.

Relaxing & Beautiful Cabin!
What a perfect stay! The cabin and property are simply beautiful! The cabin had everything we needed and everyone in our party had a wonderful and comfortable stay. Wik met us on site to ensure we had what we needed and was very easy to get in touch with! We loved all of the personal touches in the cabin and hope to be back! If you are looking for a relaxing weekend, this is the place to stay! Perfect for 6 people.

Quiet Country House
We spent several days here for our son's wedding in nearby Ruckersville. We have stayed at a number of VRBO properties but this one stood out for communication with and actually meeting the owner of the property. Wik Dove met us and escorted down to their wonderful home next to a pond on their country estate. Daily he saw us go by, he would wave, and text us to find out if we needed anything. He even remembered the day of our son's wedding and wished us all the best. The home is very quiet with a nice view of rolling hills and countryside from the porch. It is nicely equipped and comfortable with additional air conditioning for the top floor. Many thanks to Wik and Anna for hosting us!

Heaven on Earth
Everything you would ever want for a vacation! The restored/rebuilt cabin is nothing short of amazing, from the craftsmanship, to the fine furnishings, to the modern conveniences and amenities. We walked the beautiful property and trails, and fished and relaxed by the ponds. We traveled to nearby towns for antique shops, explored different areas of Charlottesville, visited the Monticello, and traveled Skyline Drive in Shenendoah National Park. This property is quiet, secluded, and a real treat to nature enthusiasts like our family. We spent hours rocking on the porch while watching fawns and bald eagles daily. Wic was the most gracious and thoughtful host who made us feel welcome and at home. His hospitality and special touches made us feel like family. One week was not enough. We cannot wait to return to this property, it is truly Heaven on Earth!

Quiet retreat with everything you need
We stayed here for a lacrosse tournament weekend with two adults and two boys. The boys got to fish, while the adults got to kick back and enjoy the quiet life. The location of the cabin was absolutely beautiful! The cabin, itself, is clearly renovated and clean. We had everything we could possibly need, and more. The property manager is extremely helpful. I have never had someone go so far above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, but also to make sure you get your space to relax and enjoy. We're definitely going back!

Wow!
This is a sensational place to stay. My husband and I spent a week in the cabin but we wished we could have stayed longer. The cabin is just as described. We were just 2 but it could easily accommodate another 2 couples or a bigger family with no compromise to privacy. The furnishings, linen and equipment were of a very high standard. We felt at home from the moment we arrived. There was nothing could have made us more comfortable. Gardens and ponds were were very well maintained and we were able to take advantage of the natural beauty the ponds and trails offer. The location is secluded but access is easy and its close enough to many of the local tourist attractions like national park drives and trails, historical sites, wineries and breweries. There is an abundance of quality restaurants nearby but having a gourmet kitchen, availability of quality local fresh produce and the the truly special view from the deck to dine on made staying in very appealing. Anna and Wik were outstanding hosts. They had anticipated most of our needs but were warm and responsive to our requests. I would highly recommend this place to relax and explore the surroundings.
