About this space
Keep close to Nature's heart... and break clear away, once in awhile, and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods. Wash your spirit clean.
John Muir
Now is a beautiful time to be in the North-woods of Minnesota. Enjoy the privacy and seclusion of beautiful trails for afternoon hiking or snowshoeing and peaceful evenings inside with a warm fire on cool nights. The warm sunshine provides comfortable temps for exploring the forest outside your door. Snowshoes included or bring your sled.
The space
The cabin is on the end of a private gravel road with no neighbors in sight. You will have forty beautifully wooded acres and over four-hundred feet of private, NATURAL shoreline with a private dock, canoe and kayaks to enjoy the lakes.
It's a great time of year to be up north. With the cool nights, it is the perfect time to go hiking or snowshoeing through the trails or relax with a good book inside by stone gas fireplace.
The cabin has one master bedroom that sleeps two and a guest room set with two twin beds. The living space has large open kitchen with newer appliances, couch, lounge chair around the fireplace. A full washroom with washer/dryer unit and heated flooring throughout the tile. Rustic three season porch set with trapped fur, snowshoes, skis, photographs and maps from historic logging trails. Porch windows allow for a beautiful view of the lake and the sunset in the evening.
Whether you are staying for a week or just using the cabin as a jumping off point for your seaplane voyage. We are able to dock your seaplane and there is also a windsock we have on the lake. The Crow Wing River flows through the Chain of Eleven Crow Wing Lakes until it joins the Mississippi River at Crow Wing River State Park south of Brainerd. For those with a sense of adventure and time you can depart our dock and paddle to the Gulf of Mexico and points around the globe. Since we have chosen to leave our shoreline in a natural state, the best swimming is from the raft anchored off shore. The swimming raft is ideal for swimming and can be reached via the canoe or kayaks. We do have a dock from which to launch the kayaks and canoe. If wish to bring your boat or float plane there is ample docking available. The shoreline also is home to a family of beavers and their house can be viewed from the canoe or kayaks. Typically they emerge at dusk.
With friends, family or a loved one enjoy fishing, canoeing, snowshoeing; or just gather round the fire and dive into a good book. Enjoy owls, deer, beaver, and other wildlife just outside. The sunset over the lake never disappoints, or even a glimpse of the northern lights is always a possibility. After all of your adventures are over for the day gather your thoughts in our newly built, beautifully handcrafted outdoor shower. We have also constructed stone gas fireplace for your enjoyment.
With hiking trails, kayaks, canoe and aluminum fishing boat with oars (bring your own motor up to 30 horsepower) there is plenty to do. And for rainy days we have board games, cards and crafts and extensive movie collection.
